Internet down when connected to Duma.

Recommended Posts

Hey,

So the way my ISP works is that they provide an ethernet cable which goes directly into my Duma.

My internet was down today when I connected through WiFi and even through ethernet through my Duma.

But when I plugged the ethernet cable from the ISP to my laptop directly it worked.

I called up my ISP and they said some 'WAN  IP' setting which begins with a 10. was missing..

Any help would be appreciated

Thank you,

Rachit

looks like you are in the states.......reboot your metduma, check the wifi settings to make sure it has not reverted back to netdumar1 username and netdumar1 password.

sounds like he has FTTx and the ethernet comes form the ONT.  The 10.x.x.x possibly a IP they hand which would also mean you are probably Double NAT'd as well.  Reboot if that doesn't fix it see if they will tell you what MAC address they have recorded for your account and see if it doesn't match the Duma. If it doesn;t then kindly request they change the MAC to the Duma's MAC address.

Thanks for the reply mate.. I will ask them about the MAC address and get back.. Hopefully it works..

what is your isp and modem? theres no such thing as an isp specific ethernet lead as they are generic for their CAT type!

Im not sure of the details but they just give an ethernet cable which they say comes from a 'junction box'. They don't give any modem. I just plug that ethernet into my router and thats how I get internet access.
