Noob needing config advice :/

hi guys, just joined forum as i just ordered the router and was hoping for a bit of basic advise to hopefully be ready to set up.

 

currently have a 60Meg up 20Meg down connection.

 

I play xbox cod pretty much every night

wife streams through kodi every night

two rugrats both watch youtube every night

 

is there a specific way to setup router to suit everyones demands?

 

or more importantly is there a way to give the xbox a better chance without disturbing the wife?

 

xbox is hard wired but all other devices are wireless

 

I read through some of the forums previous posts but not really sure what i should be doing once its connected.

 

any tips/help greatly appreciated

Put your expected bandwidth (speeds) in and let it do the auto-setup then...

With that bandwidth (I assume you have 60down + 20up really) you should all be fine if you set Anti-Flood at 70/70.

Put the Xbox in Hyperlane for gaming (but take it out of Hyperlane for Xbox downloads/updates because it will slow down and crush everyone else otherwise).

Leave the Device Priority 'flower' alone (click reset to be sure it's at default).

In miscellaneous settings: disable Deep Packet Processing, enable Cookies, enable Turbo Mode.

 

That's about it really. You have more significantly more bandwidth than me and those settings don't seem to upset anyone at my house.

Above should get you setup pretty well, though you shouldn't need turbo mode for your speeds.
