Huthayfa
Hello everyone. good evening. Since last month when my ISP blocked out the DMZ feature of my Fiber ONT. although that my NAT type is open after forwarding all the ports to my DUMA. my connection still seems like screwed up! I mean, there is no consistency in the connection on black ops 3. one time its good, and ten times its very bad, I can't kill anyone on the game, and it is really frustrating. I am a black ops 3 player, and I mostly play this game on the PS4. if I may ask for such help, if any of the Netduma support team can log into my router remotely to observe my connection parameters and fix whatever wrong with my setup, I will be very pleased. thank you in advance. Shane
Might not even be the fault of your ISP. BO3 connections have been trash for a hell of a long time. Try a different game to see if you're still getting inconsistencies in your gameplay.

Thank you so much Mr.Shane, I will try another game as you said, battlefield 4, and I will see if the case still stand. I just want someone who is professional with the router to confirm that nothing wrong/conflicted in my setup, after that I will be happy anyway so Sad that Black Ops 3 has turned into worse than ever. thanks again. Slipknot31286sic6
Obviously first check ur connection on dsl reports. See what ur buffer bloat is. Put cc on reactive and 70/70 if u don't wanna mess with be.

Put cc on reactive and 70/70 if u don't wanna mess with be. thank you so much my friend. I checked dslreports first, there are some latency spikes, but when I moved sliders back to 70/70 .. the spikes are gone. Actually, I have no problem to mess up with the router, I have some experience in networking and I can deal with such situations. however, as you know, there are many settings in the router like WAN, LAN, DNS, MTU, DHCP, UPnP, Port forwarding and many other settings which I think if i done correctly in particular with my connection, it will be better BO3 experience. Unless someone really expert logging into the router to observe the real situation, it will be hard to me to make all this settings at their best setup thank you. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 27, 2016 Administrators Share Posted September 27, 2016 I am happy to take a look, though as it probably isn't as urgent as others I may need to put other 1 on 1's ahead of you due to severity. However, post in the 1 on 1 section
Huthayfa
okay , let's make it more specific: issue: getting extensive LAG sessions after last isp update to the ONT. before, there was no such issue. trying to figure out how to fix this lag issue. I have some questions: 1- WAN settings : should be automatic or static ? through Miscellaneous>WAN settings 2- LAN settings : should I use google DNS or just my isp one ? through Miscellaneous>LAN settingsknowing that my latency to 8.8.8.8 is 74ms, I cannot achieve better than that due to my location in Saudi Arabia. 3- cloud settings: should be ticked ? both of them ? (bleeding edge and auto cloud) ? 4- which one is better, UPnP or portforwarding ? 5- MTU: should I change it ? my connection is PPPoE with default 1492. Auto on the DUMA. last, the lag compensation myth, is it real? because my Down/Up bandwidth is 200/80 mbps ... and if lag compensation myth is real.. then I normally should be screwed up due to the fast internet. my ping bar on europe servers shows 67 - 80 ms during gameplay consistenly... I am really sorry of my too much qustions, but I have enjoyed my gaming since I got my router until my isp updated the ONT. I want to have the fun back :D

So I would say have UPnP enabled. Though if you have a situation where you specifically need to port forward then port forwarding is better. Have one OR the other enabled, not both. Also disable UPnP forwarding in miscellaneous settings. You could find the optimum one for you though you would be fine leaving this as auto Some people believe in throttling your connection but I think this is a placebo as gaming does not use much bandwidth at all.
