scooby
OK so I have had this problem now for a long time..Already posted a few times..last time arranged a 1 on 1 but was missed. I am prepared to arrange another appointment for you to solve this problem..but as I see it ..going by the amount of similar threads on this subject it won't be a permanent fix. There is a serious problem here that needs addressing
abc123
scooby, this isn't something that the netduma team is likely to be able to fix. The issue is that they aren't the developers or maintainers of the router hardware or the wifi driver. Here is a post on the manufactures website about the same thing you are describing: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?t=71978 So the point is this, i don't think when they picked this hardware they knew the vast amount of wifi problems that exist with it. I personally imagine that they found a router board that was mainly open and easy to code on, that had full OpenWRT support, and that didn't have a super easy way of dumping all it's data. Then they began coding, this causes some issue because the wifi on the router board that is used isn't good. But i don't imagine in my wildest dreams that they even looked at it, because although routers love putting "GAMING WIFI" on their box...you shouldn't be gaming over wifi ever...So I would guess that a company building a router firmware wouldn't look to hard at wifi as a thing they need to support. You can easily hookup a secondary router or access point and use that wifi, which would be my suggestion. Do i wish that this router cured cancer and didn't have wifi issues, YES...but how many routers have i bought over the years that had similar wifi issues: 4...the problem is that all wifi routers are manufactured by one company and a small wifi chip is bought from another company, the second company provides the wifi driver...and a giant bag of stupidity on the side
nffcbaz72
Is wifi workaround ticked? If it is, untick it, make sure enable cookies is also checked, then reboot.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 19, 2016 Administrators Share Posted September 19, 2016 Follow this guide http://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000022405-why-does-the-netduma-wifi-keep-dropping-out-I updated it recently. Otherwise please make a post in the 1 on 1 section and I'll be happy to help. Have a new method for 1 on 1's now which means we don't both need to be available at the same time. scooby
Thanks for the responses...just a few points of reply...1. I don't game over wifi..that's direct..it's just annoying having to reboot to keep wifi on...Why should I have to use another wireless router to keep wifi! Do all Netduma have this problem? If the answer is no then I would like you to exchange my faulty product.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 21, 2016 Administrators Share Posted September 21, 2016 No they don't is the answer to that. Happy to replace (if within timeframe) and we're not able to resolve the issue. Would recommend posting in the 1 on 1 section so I can take a look.
