PPPoE bridge again - manadatory this time.

Recommended Posts

Hello,

happy night.

I was putting my Netduma R1 into the DMZ of  Alcatel ONT I-240w-A in my setup.

just today in the evening, my ISP has released an automatic update for the ONT stopping the DMZ functionality.

I called them, they told me that I should better now turn my modem into bridge mode and use my DUMA PPPoE.

I have tried that but unfortunately the DUMA did not connect to the internet.

My PPPoE uses VLAN ID 881 with prio 0.

I set everything correctly in the DUMA but didn't work.

however, I tried the same settings with linksys E1700 and it has successfully connected.

thank you in advance ..

ok no dmz.

does it have port forward?

can you open all ports with port forward to the netduma?

Hello, thanks my friend ..

yes it has port forward option - the ONT.

I got your point , but having two routers in the same time will cause double NAT which may result in some issues.

I hope if I can set PPPoE on the DUMA,

thanks

I would try the port forward option actually to start. This could be a good compromise.

Ensure its UPnP is disabled. Port forward 1024-65000 to the NETDUMA itself. Then on the duma have UPnP forwarding disabled in misc and just use UPnP OR port forwarding.

You should hopefully still achieve an open NAT with this setup.
