Titanfall 2 Tech Test comments...

My first impressions were not all that positive but after I played for awhile I got into the rhythm and really began to enjoy the game.  The first weekend before the fixes there were clearly some game play issues which I won't rehash but the second weekend it seemed smoother.  I did open the Xbox to double check that the PS4 wasn't the reason it played better but I saw no difference.

 

I think the maps are pretty good except that when playing Hardpoint Amped the Hardpoints were too close together with such a large expanse on two of the three maps it would have been better, in my opinion to put them farther apart - especially given you can get around pretty fast with your grapple and in a Titan.

 

For my money, and at the risk of repeating myself, they can dump "Pilot vs Pilot" after-all what is Titanfall without Titans?  As far as I am concerned you might just as well go to COD and play TDM.  and what is this I hear COD is going to introduce "Mechs" in the next DLC (Salvation).  Maybe having Mechs will be their salvation against TF cannibalizing their community.

 

Anyway those are just my thoughts and I would be interested in any other comments from those of you who may have participated.

Pilot V pilot is the only mode I will play when I buy, 6v6 human players was so much fun, smooth great quality graphics and great TTK.

 

When I put Blops3 back in it looked cartoonist and a downgrade in graphics.

 

We all like different things in games, I prefer balance.

Pros of Titanfall 2

Movement system is good (but not as good as the original)

Matchmaking was quick

Hit Detect was crisp

 

Cons of Titanfall 2

Maps seem average at best

Titans (just feel worse than the original)

User Interface (lots of abilities and cooldowns and I think the game does a bad job of conveying this)

Graphics aren't good, but still playable (modified version of the source engine)

 

 

Titanfall 2 seems like a pretty decent game but I'm pretty sure it will suffer the same fate as the original.  I think the biggest problem is that the majority of people prefer pilot vs pilot over the game modes with titans.  Unfortunately the devs don't seem very interested in making more Pilot vs Pilot game modes with maps designed specifically for pilot only combat.  So unless you really like the titan combat (worse than the original imo) there isn't much reason to buy Titanfall 2 over COD.

 

Imo the first game would have been near perfect if it would have had more weapons, customization, no bots, more game modes, and maps created specifically for pilot vs pilot.
