using netduma with plusnet fibre

Recommended Posts

ok so my new plusnet fibre extra connection is set to go live soon. up to 74 down and 19 up. yay for me lol

anyhow, its a pppoe based connection, i have my login details and vlan settings etc, can i drop my billion 8800nl which will work and just use the duma as the solo router and get the higher speeds out of it?

if so what will my setup be, will i need turbo mode etc enabled?

thanks

You might want to keep the 8800NL for PPPoE and DMZ the R1 and have everything running off of that (R1) to benefit from your gaming and everyday use also.

I doubt you'd need Turbo mode, but the truth is, you won't know until you try, all it takes is one mouse click to find out. :)

I have 115Mbps on the down and without Turbo mode I get about 84-85Mbps on the down, so whilst in theory I shouldn't have it enabled, I do because I lose 30Mbps without it (pings are the same).
