I've gone through the forums relating to the issues I'm experiencing with my Netduma and feel my situation is unique.

First, a little backstory: I set up the router Friday as per the instructions and it functioned according to spec through Saturday.  Saturday night, I tried to apply some tweaks to boost performance after some laggy matches.

In the miscellaneous settings, I enabled UpNp, turbo mode and cookies while disabling deep packet processing and IPv6.  I also disabled IPv6 in wan and lan. I rebooted the router from the miscellanous settings page.  I then went to the geofilter page to monitor my connections.

On the geofilter page, I have ping assist set to 0 and strict mode enabled while peer ping is disabled.  And of course, my gaming device is enabled to use the geofilter.

My issues are thus:

1.) Ps4 speed tests, though not the best, are usually consistent with wired pc test on speedtest.net.  Speeds are noticeably slower.

2.) While following all the instructions both in the packaging and on the forums to maximize the geofilter's effectiveness, I do not see any hosts, servers, shapes of any kind inside the geofilter I have applied.  The radar is blank.  I have the same experience with my old router as I do with the netduma, laggers and poor shot registration in Destiny.

3.) After rebooting the router from the misc settings page, I navigated from the geofilter page back to misc settings to verify the changes were applied.  The changes did not remain applied after reboot.

The geofilter appears to not work. At all. Please help

1.) When directly connecting my 3rd party, ISP approved, faster than the rented version modem (yes hard wired) to my console, the down/up speed test results are consistently in the 28-30/4-5mbps ranges.  However, when I run the same tests with the Netduma attached, the speeds are 15ish/2ish.  At best.

Hey, welcome to the forum!

What are your internet speeds?

Have you got your ISP hub in modem mode or the R1 in it's DMZ? If so you can turn off UPnP forwarding in misc settings.

Check here for setting up for your speeds http://support.netduma.com/en/support/solutions/articles/16000022366-why-is-my-connection-speed-lower-

Check here for why you can't see anything on the map http://support.netduma.com/en/support/solutions/articles/16000022408-why-can-t-i-see-anything-on-the-geo-filter-

Make sure you are using Google Chrome/Firefox as those are our recommended browsers.

@ Netduma Fraser:

-I don't know whether I have the ISP hub in modem mode, I have not meddled with that and assume the factory defaults are in effect.  If this is the case, what should the UPnP forwarding setting be?

-Concerning speeds, I set up my down/upload distributions and updated each.  I also disabled IPv6 in misc settings, Wan and Lan.

-Regarding the Geofilter, I followed the steps to set up host filtering, here is a screenshot of the Geofilter page with my settings applied:

Here are both my misc settings and congestion control pages (upload and download are identical):

update

I am now unable to connect to Playstation network

My confidence in the ability of my network setup to interface with the Netduma is not very high at this point.

If I can't resolve these issues, I will return it as soon as possible.

Well right off the bat I can tell you that you're setup wrong... You added your PS4 to the geofilter page and it's only filtering port 80 which is probably why you can't sign in either. You should add it again, do the basic setup and select "playstation network"

I would recommend enabling modem mode or putting the R1 in the DMZ of your ISP hub - this will help you achieve an open NAT. Still don't know what your speeds are but if you need turbo on then you will also need reactive algorithm selected. I would also reset device prioritisation.

As MoD BoX said above, that is very likely the cause of your issue. So choose Playstation network and should be good to go. Remember to put your console in hyper traffic and change the anti-flood to 70/70 when gaming or there is heavy use of the internet.

@MoD BoX,  thanks for pointing that out, I made the change.  I can now see the hosts.

@Fraser,  My speeds from the provider are up to 30mbps down and 5mbps up.  Before installing the R1, they measured at or above these thresholds, now they are at best 24mbps down and 4 mbps up (tested with wired connection to laptop, direct to modem compared to direct to R1).  Do you have any resources that might give me a walkthrough on how to put the R1 in the dmz of my modem?  I tried accessing the LAN address by typing in 192.168.0.1 in my firefox address bar, but the connection timed out.

In that case you can turn off turbo mode and stay on the preemptive algorithm to achieve your speeds.

You should see a blue box on the device manager. Clicking that box will take you to it's interface. From there the DMZ should be located in Security/Firewall settings. Input the WAN IP from the duma device manager and you'll be good to go.

My Isp hub is a motorola surboard 6141

Here is what I see when I select the device manager from the Duma menu on the left of the screen, I don't see a blue box anywhere:

You only have a modem, there are no settings for it. Go to congestion control, set bandwidth, type in your speeds, click apply then yes when it asks you to auto configure. Then go down the congestion control page and click reset distribution for both download and upload. You'll get your correct speeds.
