JustinW
Over the last week I have noticed that my ping to the Halo 5 servers on the East coast of the USA have increased from 31-33ms to 50-52ms. I have tried power cycling the router with no change and the Halo 5 profile is active when playing, just wondering if anyone else has noticed this? Also the servers in the middle of US seem normal, no change in ping.
Urge
Rarely play Halo since they took the social aspect out and made this one a comp game - but dusted the disc off to test it. Got the mid states servers most often at about 45 ping. And only got the Va server once which is odd since i know it uses that server as well - but it did have a 15 ping. Those pings would be correct for me.
JustinW
Yea that's weird I get about the same to the servers in the middle of the US but only the east coast ones are 20ping high, but that thanks for the reply.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 31, 2016 Administrators Share Posted May 31, 2016 Hey welcome to the forum! Where are you located? Could be due to your location, your ISP, server being incorrectly located etc.
JustinW
Hey welcome to the forum! Where are you located? Could be due to your location, your ISP, server being incorrectly located etc. Thanks, the Duma has been great. I am located on the west coast of Florida and my provider was verizon Fios which switched over to Frontier 3 months ago (same speed and service just new provider) and I have been connecting to those east coast VA servers since I got the Duma about 5 months ago with no issue, they have always had the lowest Ping at 31-33, duma says i am 650 miles from those servers, while the others in the middle of the US have been in the low to mid 40's for ping but now it says my ping is 50-52 on the VA servers which is weird since the other 2 in the middle of the US have the same Ping as before. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 1, 2016 Administrators Share Posted June 1, 2016 Great to hear that! If you can provide me with the IDs for those VA servers I can take a look and see if they may be incorrectly located
JustinW
The ID for the servers are d68a915c2775565b I got this by logging into the main menu of halo and clicking on the red dot for those servers, hope that is ok/right just let me know and thanks for looking into this. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 2, 2016 Administrators Share Posted June 2, 2016 I can confirm it is located in Virginia. So it could be a server issue. I would double check it's not local congestion. All devices connected to the duma, 70/70 anti-flood etc.
JustinW
Yep everything is the same so it's just the servers, I messaged them and told them that in the most recent survey so hopefully it gets fixed, but thanks for looking into it.
