major masingil
Duma Army, I have a new X7 DAC and could not be happier with its ability to provide surround sound with a set of headphones. The X7 has a built-in Mic on the face of the unit. I have figured out how to get that mic to work with my XB1. However, I would much rather use my mod mic. Here's my set up: Mod mic plugged into a Y adapter cable which is plugged into my controller. On other half of the Y adapter I have connected a 3.5mm male plug which has right and left speaker RCA males on the other end. The RCA jacks end of that cable are plugged into Line In on the back of the X7. My headphones are plugged into the headphone port on the front of the X7. During gaming session's this weekend, I noticed that my mic feed sounds like it is coming from the X7 instead of my mod mic. My question's are: How do I get the mic audio to come from my mod mic instead of the X7's built in mic? Is there a way to turn off the built in mic on the X7 itself? I have read the manual, and there are 0 details about these questions This is not an issue with PS4 as it comes with bluetooth connectivity. It's only an issue with the XB1. The way I understand it, we have to use the Y adapter to split the outgoing from my mic, and the Line In to get the other players chat to go into my headphones. Any guidance or helpful links would be appreciated.
Od1n
how did you set it up to have the X7 built-in mic to work with the xbox one? cause all you need to do then is to stay with that setup and plug your modmic directly to the X7 (front left) and the X7 will automatically use it instead of the built-in one you can deactivate the X7 mic (or the mic attached to it) in the X7 software under CrystalVoice in the top right

I have a 3.5mm to RCA plugged into the other side of the y adapter with the RCA side plugged into Line-in in the back of the X7. I figured if I had the mod mic plugged into the front of the X7 and the RCA line in and line out from the back of the x7 into the Y splitter on my controller, my mic would be transmitting my game to everyone on my team whenever my mic was active. Is that true? I want keep eveything in the X7, and not have to switch my mic on or off anytime I want to speak. I'm going to try to use my old Astro mixamp for the "mic out" and the "chat in" to my controller and the X7 for the surround sound. I already have an optical switch, so I have a spdif cable from the XB into the switch and sepatate SPDIF's to the X& and Mixamp. I think that should work? It's a ton of wires. The surround sound is definitely more complete on the X7 than the mixamp. I'm not even an audiophile and the difference was staggering.
Od1n
definitely dont use the mixamp, what you mentioned with the x7 line-out for the mic does work so go for that solution the mixamp has a much lower audio quality
major masingil
Odin, you are the man so I will definitely try out your suggestion. You're fairly certain using both the line in and line out from the back of the X7 won't end up giving the other people on my teams an annoying feedback of my gameplay?
