Mr fncypants
So when I got my Duma I had troubles hooking it up because I'm not savvy on this. I feel i have been having problems fro day one so I want to start from scratch. Currently I have optimum online Ping is 9 Down is 52 Up 25 It goes modem wired to Duma wired to netgear My Duma has xbox one And of wired When I went to see my ping on in game play was in the 80's So I went to bandwidth control and apparently everything in the house and some was showing up but wifi is used only on the net gear. I blocked all and my wife was screaming at me cuz she lost Internet. I thought it was fed only from the net gear. So I want to start from scratch and need over and set it up right. Please help but I can't start tonight as its too late.
cranium2001
This is my setup. Modem into netgear. Netgear handles all the non gaming stuff. I hard wired the duma off port one of the netgear. Hard wired my xbox one into the duma as well as a random extra desktop. I use the IE on the one, my desktop and my phone to adjust the netduma depending on the circumstances. Pretty solid performance so far. Not saying there haven't been hiccups, but mostly good.
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted March 19, 2015 Netduma Staff Share Posted March 19, 2015 For the high ping/lag issues please post everything here. This let people see your settings and diagnose the issue. Regarding the high pings though, are you using congestion control? If you have congestion control enabled, there shouldn't be any need to block the other devices. Is the netgear in router mode or AP mode? If it is in AP mode, then I think it will be transparent so if you block all devices apart from that, they will still lose internet because you need to work out which devices are connected to it and leave them unblocked as well
Mr fncypants
Yes the net gear is in AP. I think we're going to have to get team viewer working.
Guest Netduma_Iain
HI FancyPants please don't expect 1 on 1 sessions every time that is not scalable. We can only do that when its quicker to help someone that way then respond by thread because the problem is too difficult to solve. Please try let us know exactly what the problem is. Are you expierencing high pings when other people are downloading/uploading? If so please go to "Congestion Control" and set it to 70% on both download/upload please. Also how do you know you have high pings? Is it our router ping graph or another program? Cheers
Mr fncypants
Ok well I just watched sims vid on YouTube and I don't have the latest version. I have 1.027. When I go to update it says I have the latest firmware. I don't know what's going on and it's frustrating. It don't have the time to get crazy into it either right now. Maybe I have it hooked up wrong. Maybe I have Internet problems I don't know. Congestion control is set at 70% did a network test and it said ping was good jitter ok then the next was ok and next was good. Was a long day at work today and I just don't want to go crazy. So no cod for me tonight. Look I'm a firm believer that nothing is for nothing but I really need help and will pay someone to help me. Idgaf if it's 200. I just want to get this sorted. I wish I was more Internet savvy.

Mr fncypants
How do you erase the cloud settings. Hosts that were saved ?
Dirty Dog
How do you erase the cloud settings. Hosts that were saved ? You have to click each one individually in the Deny and Allow area and press the reset button in Host Descriptor box. Theoretically you could drag the red area to the bottom of the bar and green to the top. All Hosts in the black area will be neither preferred or blocked. Cloud settings are a different aspect of the Duma. Read the Wiki page for more info http://wiki.netduma.com/doku.php?id=cloud_settings
Mr fncypants
What about a master reset. I would like to start from scratch.
Dirty Dog
I don't believe that is an option yet. As I understand it, Iain is looking at a complete redesign of this feature. There is a "factory reset" button in miscellaneous settings? But I don't know if that would reset all your rated hosts, and I strongly advise you don't reset until one of the Devs have commented
Mr fncypants
Oh ok. I kinda get it. So now I have changed any of the numbers in cloud so I'm using there old settings. Ones they found in the past. That could hinder performance too no?

As long as you have auto cloud enabled, you are using the latest cloud settings
Mr fncypants
Yes I have it enabled, but "but" my settings are all on 1 in cloud.
Mr fncypants
I should change them. No?
Dirty Dog
As long as Auto Cloud is ticked and you press Apply Cloud Setting button, you're good. It doesn't matter what the numbers say as Auto cloud overrides them. You'll notice they're greyed out and can't be changed.

Buds
Good job and a nice game. Remember though even with the Netduma you can still get a bad host every so often. Just block them and move on. It doesn't mean you need to tinker with settings again
