When i heard about Netduma i was pumped! Thought it was a little expensive, but as a regular video gamer I thought it would enhance my experience. I have to say even with the recommended settings, geo-filter i have seen no benefit... All i get is lag lad and more lag.. Is it just me, or Black Ops 3 has been the worst lag game in COD history... Please help... I have had about enough... Cant play this garbage.

Been testing for a few days now works great on each game BO3 PS4

  1. I only have my labtop and the PS4 on the Netduma
  2. I use Asus router for my WiFi for everything else
  3. cable modem Lan port#1 >Netduma  =PS4 and Labtop    (WiFi Off / Hard wire only )
  4.                       Lan port#2> Asus Router = everything else on my network ( WiFi on )
  5. Make sure that your Miscellaneous settings are correct

It's not the Netduma, it's your setup and the game.  I have almost no lag issues in BO3.  I don't lag at all, have consistently 20ms or less to host, and I've largely minimized games where many >3 bar players are present, which reduces most of the BS.  I've even managed to mostly counter lag comp with my duma settings.

Again, it is hard to help you without you providing information.

Be specific about the issues you are experiencing, e.g. lag, skipping, internet drops, geofilter problems, high pings, etc.

For troubleshooting purposes, you should include the following

Type of internet? (dsl, fiber, cable, etc.)

Speeds (via speedtest.net)?

Bufferbloat grades (via www.dslreports.com/speedtest)

ISP?

Netduma firmware version?

Physical setup (modem, routers in the chain ahead of/behind the Duma), etc.

Console?

Location?

Provide that info and suggestions can be offered

Your COD settings here might be good for you Anonymous, but this setup is not advisable.  The netduma is not in position to prioritize traffic or offer congestion control in your setup. Every device on your network is competing for bandwith and priority.  There will be packet collisions, delay, etc. You are losing the traffic flow, latency, and bufferbloat benefits of the Netduma.  If it works for you, great, but it renders the features I mentioned mostly useless for other users who might need them, which is not advisable as I said before.  There are better ways to achieve your COD profile with all devices still connected to the Duma

Take a screen shot of your network diagnostics at peak times and post them here please.

Zennon,

Do you mean online speed test or network test via Netduma?

This was my most recent speed test:

Last Result:

Download Speed: 5330 kbps (666.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 7476 kbps (934.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

Latency: 4 ms

Jitter: 2 ms

Packet Loss: -1%

Hi, I mean the Netduma's network diagnostic test at peak times like just after dinner take a few.

Just to rule out ISP congestion before we move forward.

Yes, but you may not have much competing traffic on your network, or you may just be fortunate with a good line, ISP, and equipment.  So interference for your gaming and congestion problems may not be an issue for you.  But having another router setup parallel to the Duma with all devices on it will cause a lot of issues for others, so it isnt a recommended setup..  That said, it sounds like your COD settings profile is working well for you and that's a good find.

Something sounds very wrong if you are paying for 40/20 service and only getting 5/7.  That is more than just an ISP throttling issue. You also have packet loss which is disastrous for gaming.  Try a hard reboot of all of your equipment and do another speedtest.

I also could not tell from your answer if you have another router ahead of the Netduma, or just the modem?

I would also consider upgrading to the 1.03.6 version of the firmware.  In fact, check the miscellaneous settings and see if you have either turbo modes ticked, as they were a little buggy for me in that version and could cause speed loss.  The prioritization flower in congestion control was also a bit buggy and could cause the same issue.  Hit reset distribution and update on the congestion control, choose the reactive algorithm, and set sliders to 100 percent, and try a speedtest again.  Post your results

Thats why wire it up this way

  1. I only have my labtop and the PS4 on the Netduma
  2. I use Asus router for my WiFi for everything else
  3. cable modem Lan port#1 >Netduma  =PS4 and Labtop    (WiFi Off / Hard wire only )

  5. Make sure that your Miscellaneous settings are correct

No dude, if everything is NOT behind the Duma, it can not provide proper congestion control.  Therefore whatever is on your other router (which in your case is a lot), is fighting for bandwith and priority with your gaming traffic coming from the Netduma.  In your case, you have a lot of bandwith, so you may not notice, but for others this is a BAD setup that cancels out many of the netdumas best and most critical features for optimizing a network (for example, device prioritization and hyperlane would have nearly zero benefit in your setup).  You should really stop suggestion this for others.  Stick to promoting the merits of your BO3 profile itself

I'm actually trying to help the OP, not argue.  But if you think that having two separate routers connected directly to your modem is a good configuration, or that you are getting any real value out of the Duma this way, or that this connection setup is advisable for others, then you don't even have a basic understanding of this subject.. No problem man..lol.  Fair warning to anyone following that design.  Go ask one of the senior admins for advice if you choose not to believe what I am telling you. Good luck.
