Chiver2007 Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 So I am moving into my new apartment and will be having a gaming room. Question is, would it be better to go from Cable Modem --> NetDuma --> Powerline Adapter --> Switch setup in game room, OR would it be better to go Cable Modem --> Switch --> Powerline Adapter --> Netduma in game room? Thanks!
ImSallad Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 From what a lot of people have said on here it's normally best to always go Cable modem to NetDuma then everything connected to the Duma. I set it up a different way at first then went ISP modem in modem mode to NetDuma and it worked perfectly
PharmDawgg Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 I'm partial to your first setup. That way the R1 will be able to handle all or any congestion on your network side of things. I take it there is no way to have the modem and router in the game room itself correct?

PharmDawgg Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 If that is the case either way should work fine. I would try both and see which one works best for you real world.
fuzzy clam Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 I would also go with your first set up but with those speeds it really won't matter a whole lot
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 24, 2016 Administrators Posted February 24, 2016 As above, I'd go with the first setup
