Yowie
So, I just got my netduma and love it so far. However, I've noticed a few things that I can't seem to find the answer to. I'm using the latest firmware. Reactive congestion control All other suggested settings. If I change my PS4 to any other number than the default, I get about 1/3 to 1/2 the speed I get when I hit reset then update. I've tried various speed tests, including the one built into the PS4. All act the same. This renders the congestion control completely useless. What could I be missing? Netduma seems to be adding additional ping to my connection. With my Asus router: Pinging 8.8.8.8 with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=39ms TTL=59 Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=39ms TTL=59 Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=42ms TTL=59 Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=39ms TTL=59 With my Netduma router: Pinging 8.8.8.8 with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=53ms TTL=52 Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=54ms TTL=52 Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=54ms TTL=52 Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=56ms TTL=52 Has anyone else run into these issues? Thanks! -BX
Zennon
Reset the device priority flower it is bugged and is fixed in the upcoming FW releasing in February. Then reboot from misc settings.
Yowie
oh, ok. I'll give the reset a try. What about the difference in ping times? Any ideas? Thanks!
Zennon
I hope the reboot and reseting the device flower will sort that.
Yowie
no, the ping times are still higher than with the Asus router.
Zennon
Have you tried a different Ethernet cable between the Asus and the duma?
Yowie
It's the same cable. Really short one too.
Yowie
It's not a huge deal to me, just curious if anyone had run into this issue. The features of this router greatly outweigh a few ms in ping time.
Zennon
I would swap out the cable even though it work's on the ASUS the teeth may slightly be out for the duma port you never know. Also turn the Netduma off for 5 mins and retest.
