shantzonpoint Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Since hooking up this router my NAT type has been changed to strict. How do you change it back to normal?
Guest Netduma Fraser Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Since hooking up this router my NAT type has been changed to strict. How do you change it back to normal? What console are you experiencing this with?
shantzonpoint Posted December 17, 2014 Author Posted December 17, 2014 oh crap sorry about that. It's on a xb1.
Guest Netduma Fraser Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Go to your device manager on the R1, do you see the blue box? It says "We have detected you are connected to another router (as opposed to a modem)" etc
shantzonpoint Posted December 17, 2014 Author Posted December 17, 2014 sorry for delayed response. Yes I do see the blue box
Guest Netduma Fraser Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 That means you're connected to another router, you need to have port forwarding on your ISP router. The R1 does its best to open ports on your ISP router but sometimes this is not always possible. Before we go any further, can you disable the Geo-filter and see if that fixes your NAT issue?
shantzonpoint Posted December 17, 2014 Author Posted December 17, 2014 I feel like a noob. How do you turn it off. Just set it to 100%?
Guest Netduma Fraser Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 No worries! On your Geo-filter, make sure any devices/services you have selected are disabled i.e. all the buttons underneath say enable. If you need any help I can upload a picture of what this should look like
shantzonpoint Posted December 17, 2014 Author Posted December 17, 2014 it changed from strict to moderate
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Ok this could be a couple issues. Could you select "Settings->UPnP" and take a screenshot please. Then post here, and I can help from there.
shantzonpoint Posted December 17, 2014 Author Posted December 17, 2014 Let me say I do have a Linksys router in line with the netduma. Right now it's going Modem-Linksys-Netduma-XB1/PC. I know this isn't optimal but I did it on the fly so I could start using the netduma right away.
shantzonpoint Posted December 17, 2014 Author Posted December 17, 2014 If you want me to change things around, I can do that right now.
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 One sec, I'm just checking the picture.
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Its really weird but it looks like you have two consoles at least. Have you got two xb1 or a xb1 and ps4
shantzonpoint Posted December 17, 2014 Author Posted December 17, 2014 Its really weird but it looks like you have two consoles at least. Have you got two xb1 or a xb1 and ps4 I only have a xb1 and pc directly hooked to the netduma.
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Ok interesting, have you got static IP set-up on your xbox?
shantzonpoint Posted December 18, 2014 Author Posted December 18, 2014 I'm not sure.......lol. I would think so. How do I find out?
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Ok don't worry, I know this seems like your classic tech support. But I think your router is in a confused state because its trying to port forward to two different addresses. Maybe you fiddled with the network settings on the xbox I'd suggest you switch off the xbox. Then pull the plug out the xbox so its definitely off Pull the power out of the Netduma router, wait 10 seconds then put it back Make sure the geo-filter is turned off Then wait 30 seconds and turn on your xbox Check your NAT Let me know how you get on
shantzonpoint Posted December 18, 2014 Author Posted December 18, 2014 I'm showing Open NAT type under settings on my xb1 right now if that helps.
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Ok does that mean the issue is resolved?
shantzonpoint Posted December 18, 2014 Author Posted December 18, 2014 I reset everything as you suggested. I'm showing open NAT type under settings on the xbox but still showing moderate in AW.
shantzonpoint Posted December 18, 2014 Author Posted December 18, 2014 I have the geofilter off. If I turn it back on, I'm assuming it will go back to strict in game.
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Ok cool, we're nearly there Your geo-filter is switched off right? If so I think I have the solution. Could you post your "Settings->UpnP" screenshot now please
