fakkel got a reaction from acoop133 in NEW FEATURE ANNOUNCEMENT: GEO-FENCING
The Netduma R1 will be updated first but that thing is almost a fossile. Then of course you can upgrade to another version, but then you wait even longer on a update, on average 1.5 years or more. More and more games are being played on Dedicated servers and people all around the world have way better and faster internet then even 1.5 year ago, which makes a lot of the Netduma focussed features obsolete. They are still busy implementing long and awaited features (from 2.5 years ago) or still havent fixed issues and bugs that are around just as long.
But I think that by now we should have seen (new) features that matter today. Cloud options, Hybrid VPN for all routers and one that works flawlessly, Anti Jitter, Downloading and commanding router from outside the house. Better security options. Device Manager that lets you actually remove devices! Especially if they already left my house 8 months ago, I understand I can reset it, but I sell between 20 to 50 laptops a week and everytime I have issues to remove a device from the list.
We have also used a Netduma in our Airbnb so natural that spot will see a lot of people and everytime I have to reset it and then remove all the devices one by one. I now swapped the Netduma with a Asus Rog and it automatically deletes a device that doesnt't connect to it after 72 hours, perfect! I can control everything in that house with it or connect everything to it without a problem. Micro managment is what we need and not half baked options that even after 1.5 year still dont work without issues. Especially on the XR500.
Portforwarding, Hybrid VPN, Device Manager, Ping Asist, everything looks outdated and is glitchy as hell. I have a issue where all my Hybrid VPN settings would dissapear everytime. The Netduma team was like: we looked into it and we could re-create the same issue also on our side, we hope we will have a fix for this soon, sorry. That was 14 months ago and it still happens it is crazy.
I have friends and family members that bought the NetdumaR1 and XR500 because of me. They don't roam the forums and keep asking me about updates I showed them were already be in the pipe line and on there way more then 2 years ago!

fakkel reacted to Od1n in NEW FEATURE ANNOUNCEMENT: CONNECTION BENCHMARK
When will we be able to change the congestion algorithm that the R1 uses? In the last few seconds of this Netduma announcement video you can see the download graph and it looks like Cubic Congestion Control is used. This is sub-optimal for gaming since it doesnt consider roundtrip time or other metrics that are relevant for gaming devices in your network. And using Cubic is probably also the reason for why we are forced to set our connections to 70% to prevent congestion.
Ages ago Iain claimed to have created a congestion control algorithm that in his lab allowed him to max out his complete connection while his ping only spiked by 5 milliseconds. Googles BBR Congestion Control is very close to what he promissed, is out for several years now and could probably be implemented very quickly by you guys.

For those who dont fully understand what i mean here is a picture from google:
In the last few seconds of the Netduma Video above you can see the bandwidth graph which basically looks like left graph below in the picture. This is bad and causes lag. What you want is the right graph it gives more bandwidth AND less lag. It has some downsides but those could be adressed by the R1 only assigning BBR to gaming devices for example.

Please remove the slider it is annoying and only mouse friendly. No brand uses it because of that reason and in 2020 a mouse shouldnt be the only option to set this! Plus I really hope we will see the Anti Jitter I think we are waiting on that for atleast 3 years.

fakkel got a reaction from Netduma Jack in Upgrading your Netduma R1 to DumaOS from a version lower than 1.03.6
I have to say the NetdumaOS was really the update I was waiting for. My download speeds have been rock solid and stable and didn't need a single reset since it's release (months ago). Eventhough there is a glitch with your VPN credentials becoming invisible in the NetdumaOS (already picked up by admin they re-produced the problem themselves), the VPN always work. I remove one device from the VPN list and it switches to normal ip smoothly. I am really happy at the moment and I am proud of the Netduma Team! You never gave up! Thanks for everything.

fakkel got a reaction from RL317 in Weird Right Stick Controller Lag PS4 (Please Help)
Wauw thanks guys for already all these responses! I got the HIDUSBF Software to work and increased my controller's polling rate, the weird thing is that I can feel it is way more responsive but with the old weird lag underneath it. So the stuff that wasn't laggy before (aiming to the left with the RIGHT Stick goes smoother) goes smoother, everything besides aiming up and to the right (with the right stick). Those last 2 go smoother but you can still feel it is different from the rest. I am now 100% positive that sitting close to my monitor, probably away from Modem and Router makes my controller lag like only 30% of the 100% if I sit 3 meters backwards!
I did disable all other Bluetooth devices, but not all infrared/wifi devices that is the next step!
Thank for posting that thread, I already read at least 30 different threads, but let's hope this one has the right answer to help me solve my individual problem.
The difference between lag and no lag. I soon will have a video up where I start to lag and a video where I have no lag at all. It is basically you can either turn 180 and headshot someone, or you have trouble aligning a shot on someone that completely stand still and is just a meter away, that is how bad it becomes from time to time.
I keep you guys updated and thanks again for all this input!

fakkel got a reaction from Netduma Jack in R1 issues - Another day, another problem
What is the model number of your Fritzbox to see how and if we can get bridge mode to work? I do honestly believe that if you line is fine and the NetdumaR1 give strange readings like that, it is probably the way how your ISP modem is connected to the NetdumaR1 (setting wise). The only thing that I blame on the NetdumaR1 is that if you ISP modem fucks up, the NetdumaR1 directly rolls over and dies with it, with all sorts of weird UI glitches, Connection issue glitches, etc. Those issues mostly sent us in the wrong direction and almost always point to the NetdumaR1 itself. I helped a lot of people who had small issues with their Netduma's and at least 20 people who had what you can call extreme internet problems. But 100% of the time it wasn't the Netduma, being faulty! Of course, a device can always be faulty, at least in my experience that probability is really slim.

I have had the same issues and it was driving me nuts I thought it was the NetdumaR1 because my ISP said the wireless ISP modem didn't show any errors. In the end it was my ISP modem that wasn't perfectly in bridge mode even though the main menu on both our ends said it was! All my LAN ports still worked, and so by accident, I found out the bridge mode wasn't functioning correctly and after a bridge mode re-activation fix everything works perfectly again!

I need a fix and I need a fix fast my misses works a lot at home and therefore the internet needs to be stable, disconnects and slow wifi is not stable. I didn't change anything in my house and I haven't had a problem in the last two years I am trying to get a fix since May before my warranty ran out, and now when I no longer have warranty we getting to the point I need a replacement (really?) you would do that to me
