Ritchie1909 got a reaction from Rodolfo Lima in A potentially silly question
Firstly, I know the purpose of the router isn't to mess with any matchmaking algorithm so if this discussion isn't allowed then apologies Fraser!
Obviously we know duma has the ability to block individual servers, which I'm having to do due to the plethora of mislocated ones.
But it has got me thinking, does the game have servers allocated to specific skill buckets? Like will certains servers always contain a ≥X MMR and others for the opposite.
Has anyone experimented with blocking certain servers on duma and what have you found?
I consistently see the same players over and over again in my lobbies, especially the crimson and iridescent players and would be curious if this done anything.

Just an educated guess really, it's likely we'll never truly know! No worries, we are aware there are a lot of mislocated servers there so we are in the process of correcting them

Ideal! Really appreciate the response as always. For anyone else looking for a workaround just avoid Oklahoma and you'll be fine.
You can individually click and allow and deny within the cluster too.

They said it's 100% something they will be fixing for the next Geo-Filter update but I don't have a date for that currently

Good to hear, thanks for the confirmation! Not cheeky but also the updates can come at any time so I may know at the same time as you or you'd notice the behavior has changed, I will try though. No worries, thank you!

Seems like potentially a big block of IPs from that location have been divided up and sold to other places across the world, might just be easier for us to check servers in this location - thanks!
-
Ritchie1909 reacted to Netduma Fraser in Bizarre issues last few days
IPs can be sold from country to country etc so an IP that was once local to you could end up changing to being an IP across the world. There are just under 4 BILLION public IPv4 addresses, keeping tracking of all of those is near on impossible or would at least take a ridiculous amount of resources. Not suggesting we have a 4 billion address database ourselves, just highlighting the inherent issue with keeping IPs 100% accurate.
The games change their server IPs from time to time and when that happens, if it's not already an IP we have previously changed to be in the correct location it can show the previous IP location. That's how a server showing in the US can appear even though it's in Europe. If no one reports a mislocated IP/ID then we don't know it needs to be changed.

Ahh ideal! Think there is loads of them for what it's worth mate as I'm consistently getting 40ms ping but marked as USA.

I'll answer this as Fraser (one of the most helpful people on a forum I've encountered) isn't really allowed to as it's not the point of the router haha
I've played about with this a bit. The router can geofence to anywhere and it works great. The hybrid VPN can be used with any VPN, doesn't need to be one of the "cod specific ones". I've noticed basically zero difference to sbmm.
The best you can do is like the video does. Geofence far away from you with a VPN location to a small population zone and the game will mildly favour ping but in my experience compared to old cods, the new relay servers etc they have are minimising how good this method is. I'd love to be proven wrong mind you.

Thanks for the update, much appreciated!

Ritchie1909 got a reaction from Netduma Fraser in DumaOS weird but tonight.
Thought I'd report back after "solving" this. Error occurs when I swap from the dumaOS site on laptop to the mobile app during a play session. The app allows me to change geofilter settings etc but the game just doesn't recognise anything.
For the record, I was doing so so that I could use hybrid VPN on the site and then turn my Mac off.
For anyone else lurking, you can set your VPN location data through every proxy to your phone and use the dumaOS app flawlessly at the same time.
Hope this helps someone and thanks for the response as always Fraser!

Have a good one!

Right i understand what you are saying. And you mentioned something i honestly looked over. You switched your PS5 to PC. Your setup is perfect. I wouldn't change at thing. My mistake port 3074 UDP , very much needed, sorry for the confusion

Great to hear that! If you leave the VPN enabled it will likely time out eventually so I'd suggest just disabling it after you've finished and then enabling it again when you play. Switching the method by which you access the interface though won't affect the VPN being enabled.
You can set it and forget it for the most part if you'd like to yes

Ritchie1909 reacted to jonnyg56 in vpn "sbmmoff" and netduma r3 - does it actually work?
You select only VPN these services and add service... Rules are:
TCP-UDP Source port 1-65535 Destination port 3074-3074
TCP-UDP Source port 1-65535 Destination port 443-443
TCP-UDP Source port 1-65535 Destination port 3478-3480

Ritchie1909 got a reaction from Netduma Fraser in Which one to purchase?
Appreciate the heads up! For what I'm looking for, I think that'll do fine. Only really need the geo fencing and hybrid vpn.
Not quite ready to shell out the price for the r3 (or rather justify that to the mrs haha).
-
Ritchie1909 reacted to Netduma Fraser in Which one to purchase?
Haha no worries at all! I will be honest those routers will not be really getting any new feature updates so if you want something that is more current and will continue to see new features I'd go with the R3 really.
If you'd still like to go with an XR then the XR500 would be the best option there

Ritchie1909 got a reaction from Netduma Fraser in Question before purchasing
Ideal, I'm not too stressed about that as I think my connection will be grand. So long as I can geofiltering and use my vpn if needed I'll be happy!
Thanks again for all your help! Look forward to this arriving now.

Ritchie1909 reacted to Netduma Fraser in Question before purchasing
Geo-Filtering does still work yes - no one has mentioned anything about increased difficulty forcing servers further away from what I've seen.
Other than the unnecessarily increased ping it may work but I can't guarantee it.
Should be relatively straight forward but if not we're always here to help. This will help also: https://support.netduma.com/docs/dumaos-4/geo-filter/

Ritchie1909 reacted to Netduma Fraser in Question before purchasing
As no one has replied to this far I'll jump in a bit. Keep in mind that they have actively made changes to prevent people using a VPN and so it may not work very well going forward. As using a VPN adds to your ping it would be better to use the Geo-Filter only for that purpose to keep your ping to a minimum.
