5 second ‘disconnect’ after 10pm?
banjo22 replied to banjo22's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Hello, this is rearing it's ugly head once again, now random times during the day. I was in an online EAFC game and got kicked from the servers, here is the log around the time [DHCP IP: (192.168.1.54)] to MAC address 76:9F:0E:5F:D4:81, Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:42:09 [Admin login] from source 192.168.1.44, Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:42:04 [Admin login] from source 192.168.1.44, Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:41:54 [UPnP set event: Public_UPNP_C3] from source 192.168.1.25, Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:41:36 [DoS attack: ACK Scan] from source 20.90.156.32,port 443 Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:41:34 [DoS attack: Fraggle Attack] from source UNKNOWN,port 443 Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:41:27 [Admin login] from source 192.168.1.44, Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:41:22 [Time synchronized with NTP server] Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:41:08 [Internet connected] IP address: 87.114.51.167, Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:41:08 [DoS attack: Fraggle Attack] from source UNKNOWN,port 443 Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:40:55 [Internet disconnected] Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:40:51 [Internet idle-timeout] Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:40:51 [Admin login] from source 192.168.1.44, Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:40:49 [Admin login] from source 192.168.1.44, Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:40:39 [Admin login] from source 192.168.1.44, Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:40:09 [DHCP IP: (192.168.1.54)] to MAC address 76:9F:0E:5F:D4:81, Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:39:49 [Admin login] from source 192.168.1.44, Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:39:37 [DHCP IP: (192.168.1.56)] to MAC address 6C:99:9D:68:9C:8B, Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:39:22 [DHCP IP: (192.168.1.54)] to MAC address 76:9F:0E:5F:D4:81, Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:39:09 [Admin login] from source 192.168.1.44, Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:39:05 [DHCP IP: (192.168.1.54)] to MAC address 76:9F:0E:5F:D4:81, Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:38:55 [DHCP IP: (192.168.1.54)] to MAC address 76:9F:0E:5F:D4:81, Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:38:42 [Admin login] from source 192.168.1.44, Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:38:33 [DHCP IP: (192.168.1.57)] to MAC address A0:D2:B1:E7:34:D0, Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:38:08 [Admin login] from source 192.168.1.44, Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:38:01 [DHCP IP: (192.168.1.30)] to MAC address 72:37:B8:88:F3:FB, Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:37:54 [Admin login] from source 192.168.1.44, Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:37:29 [Admin login] from source 192.168.1.44, Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:36:57 [DHCP IP: (192.168.1.54)] to MAC address 76:9F:0E:5F:D4:81, Sunday, Dec 31,2023 18:36:32 -
Another day, another problem with XR1000
banjo22 replied to banjo22's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
If it were losing power, it would be the only device in the house doing so; I cannot see it at all. I don't have an alternative power connector, no. Also, it literally resets itself from restarts so clearly, the software or hardware is buggered. I have contacted the retailer, no idea about their warranty. I assume it will be out of it and they'll tell me to get in touch with the maker of the product... a router that is 1 year and a half years old and cost over £250 it really is a crime to be experiencing this many issues. -

Hi Fraser. That’s not the case, I would never restart that way. Obviously if we have a power cut that would be the only way it would happen but that doesn’t happen often. I understand the need to wait for the router to sync with the modem and so for. tonight we lost our internet, checked the router and noticed the DSL light was red, I rebooted the router (via the rear button!) no joy. Turns out the router had reset itself again!! What can I do get it replaced as I’ve had enough and it’s happened enough times now to confirm it’s not a one off and clearly faulty. Bought 19/01/2022 from box. please advise -

Finally got on the router. Had to go via routerlogin.net as the thing and managed to factory reset itself?!! So I have internet again. what can I do about this though as it’s another hour of my life wasted on this thing -

Nope to both. The router is completely default settings, eventually it all started working. However I needed to reboot the router tonight, same issues, nothing is connecting back. rebooted twice to no avail. No idea what to do other than factory reset it…again. Is there anything I can look for that confirms the thing is broken? It’s ridiculous that I am in fear of a reboot of a router!!! -

Still having issues with a number of devices. Ie my phone isn’t connected whilst standing next to the router, nor is my sons PlayStation 4 that is plugged into it. The PC in the room however is connected wirelessly. rebooted a number of times already. -

Ok so unplugged all connections into the router and rebooted and it allowed me to log in. Some devices could connect wirelessly, some not but after 10 mins or so most have connected. However, all physical connections via cat5 remain disconnected, as in not picking up an IP address at all? Anything that I can try? -
I had notice the electricity would be out for a few hours today so shut the router down that had been working fine. Turned it back, can’t connect to it on the SSID that I had this morning and all the connections physically aren’t getting any connection neither. How can a router be so unreliable, this has has happened a couple of times this year already. I’m now going to have to go through the palaver of resetting it and having to set it all up again. It’s unbelievable

This hasn't been updated for a while, Fraser. https://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000132677-dumaos-firmware-progress I check this for when the latest XR1000 firmware is out, if there are other means of being updates then please let me know.

5 second ‘disconnect’ after 10pm?
banjo22 replied to banjo22's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Thanks. I have done this now, the only thing that isn't working, and the one thing I need is the PS5! For some reason it won't pickup an IP address, I either have to manually input on the PS5 or connect to the WIFI. Any idea why? It just appears to my PS5 strangely. I have 2 other PS4s and another PS5 in the household and they are fine connecting with a reserved IP. I did factory reset my XR1000, is it caching something? The only different setting within the OS is that the PS5 is prioritised in QOS, its setup exactly the same way as the other console and connected to the same switch. -

Just happened again at 11:25 just now. Unfortunately no logs -
5 second ‘disconnect’ after 10pm?

Surely the time disconnected would be longer than a few seconds if they were messing with the connection? The router would need to resync which could take minues? -

Not every day no, seems to be the evening but then that's only noticed because it's the time of day that I will be playing online -

I hadn't been gaming much of late but it finally happened again tonight. Log attached, it happened at 23:56 to be exact, can some examine what would happen on the duma to make me DC from the online match I was in? Log.txt -

Hi mate, yes correct, no reboot required, but downtime is enough to upset any online game I'd be in. Unfortunately, I was away for the weekend, so the log file won't be of much use now; when it happens again I will download and post up. XR1000 Thanks -
Hi all. I actually posted this on the Plusnet forums thinking it was a line issue although the responses I received suggest it could be a router issue. The only thing they would think would be happening is a line resync but the disconnect from the internet would be much longer than a few seconds. Below is a copy and paste from that forum. Has anyone experienced such an issue? Hi all, Long-term user of Plusnet due to the reliability of their connection. I game each night, always online, so a resilient network is critical to me, however over the past few weeks, very late into the night, my connection will drop for a second or so, enough to kick me from whatever game I may be in, so it's starting to grate on me somewhat. Wednesday it was 11:25pm, kicked from an online fps game i was in, also the PSN party, this also happened to another console in the house. Last night 10:26pm kicked from a fifa online game Has anyone else experienced this? I know it's the internet as I have my PC open simultaneously, and the ability to access websites isn't possible. I do nothing to restore the connection; it's so quick I would only notice if I were in an online game.I

Reserved addresses not updated in device manager
banjo22 replied to banjo22's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Hi Fraser, how long does the QA at Netgear take? I check the firmware progress regularly and the XR1000 has been with Netgear for what seems like ages, is there an ETA for getting this firmware out? I barely log onto the router nowadays as the slowness and apps not loading is just too frustrating. -
Reserved addresses not updated in device manager
banjo22 replied to banjo22's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Just to add, applied all these name revisions. Rebooted the router this morning only to find a load had reverted back to their default names the router identifies as them, so I've just waited a shed load of time. I give up with this router. -
Hello, I’ve just a long time reserving IP addresses and giving specific device names to all my network items. After doing this and going into device manager, the names haven’t updated and and still have the default names and/or a load of ‘unnamed devices’ - can someone advise what the point of this service is? Or just another issue with the firmware of this router! i want a greater control of my network and see what is doing what. This is on my xr1000 also I can’t believe there is still no firmware update to address the slowness of the apps and general usability in the dashboard. I was told to keep using my R2 over a year ago because firmware was updating to address this problem and still nothing. Never known a company like this for releases never coming to fix major issues.

Still no closer to this hotfix Liam?
-
Thanks. When I first started using it again yesterday most of the applets were accessible, slow but I could get to most of them, now nothing. I look forward to the hotfix, where can I keep an eye on this release? Which section? Thanks
-
@Netduma Fraser As promised, I really hope this can be fed back to your engineering team. As you can see it's completely unusable, I suspect it cannot cope with the amount of devices on my network, and I'm not sure if the R2 will be any different so until I have reassurances I won't be buying another one, which is really frustrating as I loved this in its prime, it used to work great with all the devices on my network and then 2.0 firmware just killed it.

Cheers. Happy to show a video grab of what I see if it helps in anyway. Thanks
