Im having same issues with wifi performance, im also coming from a xr1000 to the new r3 and the wifi wifi performance is much worse than the xr1000 -
i hope the hardware cand support transmit power

Is there a transmit power option? I know my xr1000 had that option

It’s not a congestion issue they only wifi I can pick up is my own wifi. And I already split the wifi

I have a 2,400 sq/ft home and with the r3 my ring garage flood light can is about 20 to 40 feet away from my router and 2 walls between the router and cam, and my signal strength is poor with the xr1000 I got better signal strength.

you could connect a router that allows mesh to the r3 via ether net but you would have two separate WIFI networks with the mesh network not having the features of the r3. alternatively you could buy two R3's and have two separate wifi networks and label them upstairs and down stair as an example. and lastly but not the most preferably you could set up wifi repeaters -
