@CeezIt's strange that you're not seeing the second hop, which could indicate an issue with the gateway. When you're connected directly to the modem or router, does hop 2 appear clearly?
-
@mygamertagsucks If the CM MAC number is incorrect in Comcast's system, issues may arise during a reboot. However, if the modem is still listed in their system, you can verify this by contacting an agent. Request them to check the registered modem by providing the modem model and CM MAC. Ensure the information is accurate and ask the agent to delete any outdated modem history still present in the system from previous registered modems, as they do have the ability to do that.
Yes, there's going to be salespeople 24/7 it’s literally part of their enforced employee agenda. It’s similar to when you go to a grocery store, and they ask, “Would you like to donate to children with cancer?” every time you finish your order. It’s designed to make you feel guilty while allowing the company to profit, as it serves as a way for them to avoid taxes. Essentially, it’s a loophole for financial gain, and in some cases, the money doesn’t even go to the children—it’s just stolen.
At this point, I recommend connecting directly to the modem to isolate the issue and determine whether it's related to the ISP or the router. You can use PingPlotter, which offers a free trial if you haven't tried it yet, and show us the results, and we can tell you whether or not it is.

- So did you actually get a technician to come to your home and check equipment, or not?
If you’re getting looped around technicians, what you can do is keep records of the tickets and then file an FCC complaint, and I can promise you’ll receive a call pretty quickly from a regional agent. They don’t like it when consumers know their rights. But just so you know, if you’re wasting their time, you will be fined. This is for situations where you’re literally being played, and if it gets extreme, I recollect you can pay 200 bucks for like a civil report, etc. They’re not untouchable but a pain to deal with. I had to do that once in my lifetime.
You will need to provide proof using networking tools, such as PingPlotter or a similar application, so basic understanding is required.
As for you connecting directly to your modem, pretty certain it might be related to you not renewing your DHCP or the renewal getting stuck; therefore, manual renewal windows flush, etc.

@DanologyUKThat tool isn't generally reliable for identifying the source of an issue, but it's great for 24/7 monitoring but it is free though
@mygamertagsucks As he mentioned, the specs fall within 3 dBmV and 40 dB. The only potential concern might be the upstream, but it's still acceptable. It's likely difficult to fine-tune, and the ISP probably won't invest resources for such a minor improvement anyway.
So did you get the ISP to check and are you still experiencing connection issues? I would more or less recommend PingPlotter for in-depth diagnostics. The only con is it is not free but there's a trial. The best route is a perpetual license version. I got Pro, but it is because I am pretty deep into analysis.

@mygamertagsucksHow does your modem page look? Are there many uncorrectable errors, untuned channels, etc.? If the power levels are out of range, that could be the issue. It might also be caused by a damaged cable inside the home, but that would typically just cause packet loss, so make sure your equipment is not damaged if not, you’re going to pay the fee for that.

@mygamertagsucksThere shouldn’t be much of an issue. If you’re experiencing DDoS attacks and have a static WAN IP, that’s likely the cause. You’ll need to contact your ISP to have it changed unless you already have a dynamic IP if so reboot modem. How do you know you’re being DDoSed? Have you checked your modem status, uncorrectable errors, event logs, etc.?
Best advice: shut down everything for 10 minutes and check if the same issue persists referring to the router and modem.
You can experience a DDoS attack on a console by joining a party chat, but if someone goes out of their way to send petabytes of attacks, that's quite petty. Which, from experience, are cod bums.

@Reykc9510What you can do is just use polygon mode for one game and use circle for the other. Easy workaround only if you’re playing two games, etc. You do have to have geolatency off to enforce rules to be strict. I haven’t tried Arc Raiders so I don’t know if the filter works correctly since there are games that aren’t compatible. Do keep in mind you'll have to manually allow authentication servers.
-
@Reykc9510There isn't an actual profile system for geofilter. They had something somewhat similar in the past, but it wasn’t widely used since it wasn’t custom-made by you, but rather by them. Also, what do you mean by reboot? There is no need to reboot unless you’re running into the geofilter stack bugs that are caused by UPnP causing memory leak issues.
-
@ExcellentZEROYou can run a PingPlotter test to identify the source of the issue and share the results here for further assistance.
-
@DJAYYYou can use the web interface at that point; it functions essentially the same way. Which iPhone model are you using? The issue might be related to that specific version, such as a screen resolution bug that could be causing it to crash.
-
@DJAYYI’ve tested it myself, and it works fine. When you shut down the phone, did you wait for a minute before rebooting, then wait another minute after restarting, and finally log in and wait an additional minute? If not, there could be memory issues, as the phone needs time to recover data into the RAM. Also, I’ve noticed that iOS 26 generally has slower boot times, even on an iPhone 14 Pro Max. They've been improving through the updates, but it still feels lackluster to say the least worst os launch ever.
It could be the settings, especially with the app being black and all. Funny enough, it wouldn’t be surprising if that’s the cause.

@18RayFYour case is uncommon but not unheard of. What stands out is that you're using DHCP, which typically operates with an MTU of 1500. However, your ISP is clearly providing an MTU of 1492, commonly seen with PPPoE, and when the MTU exceeds the limit set by the router, fragmentation occurs, which can lead to issues like the one you experienced. In other cases, this might manifest more noticeably, such as through packet loss. It is not an issue on the router side as the router uses the most common configuration.
@KinGzzyMost of what you said isn’t even an issue; the time going backwards is literally just the DPI reading the packets, and as you are using the AI, which you are, it doesn’t tell you the most obvious thing, which is that IPv6 is disabled.
-
@QuizTimeIdeally, that would be the best route if you want the SQM and all the features the R3 offers. However, if you only need the Geo-Filter, you can stick with the previous method. Keep in mind that a mesh system is not a router, so you'll need to use the R3 as the main source unless your mesh node has a built-in router feature.
-
@purpleandgold33You shouldn't rely on it since it's inaccurate and requires an update. I believe they are working on a fix to improve its accuracy. In the meantime, adjust your sqm manually.
-
@Rodolfo LimaAre you using the Ethernet cable provided in the Netduma package? If so, try using a different cable to see if the issue persists. The included cable is flat and, in many cases, has been reported as faulty.
-
Are you experiencing connection drops on Wi-Fi, or does it occur with both Wi-Fi and Ethernet?
-
@Rodolfo LimaAre you actually using Starlink? If so, then what does the data for Starlink show? There should be an option where it shows network history such as outgates and such.
-
@Gary7289Okay, servers change; they don’t stay the same. You do realize that, right? Is there anything being blocked when you’re trying to log in then that's the issue it pretty obvious?
-
@Gary7289You're likely blocking a server used for authentication, possibly located in Dublin. You'll need to manually allow it. When you load into the game, it will probably appear in the top-right corner of the map.
-
@DirtytamatoCould you clarify the type of modem you're using? It might need specific configuration. Additionally, since you mentioned the disconnects occurred with your R2, do these issues still happen when you're connected directly to the modem? If they do, the problem likely isn't with the router but something else.
-
@DirtytamatoI’m not sure about your exact setup, but if you’re using a switch box through walls or similar configurations, try enabling STP (Spanning Tree Protocol) under settings > advanced.

On Apex Legends, it does work—but SBMM still essentially forces you into specific servers. From my experience, the only thing you can really do is keep retrying to get a different server, and even then it’s mostly a waste of time. For example, on NAE you’re often forced onto Norfolk servers and end up with 60–80 ms ping in Ranked, while in public matches you’ll suddenly get 20–30 ms. It honestly feels like the game is intentionally increasing ping in Ranked. I’ve tried VPNs and other methods, and nothing changes.
I’m confident this is by design. Given how SBMM works, the priority is strict skill balancing, even if that comes at the expense of connection quality. We’ve seen similar behavior in other games—Call of Duty being a prime example—where published SBMM-related patents outline even more aggressive behind-the-scenes manipulation. Developers just don’t like to openly admit it, so I’ll leave it at that because they'll be massive backlash but even then if it's profitable why even bother gotta keep the NPC's mowing
It’s pretty ironic, but the game is basically dead to me at this point. There are too many cheaters now, especially with Titan Two setups using AI-driven nonsense that’s essentially PC-level DMA. If you’re a casual player, you probably won’t even notice it, but in the top ranks it’s a serious issue—and EA does nothing about it. I’ve moved on because of that. If you want more detail, you can check out Zeus covering the issue here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIYgGhnQ0SA.
To be clear, this isn’t limited to Apex—it’s happening across multiple games. What doesn’t make sense is why these massive companies haven’t gone after third-party businesses that openly sell cheat-adjacent hardware through major retailers like GameStop. And no, we’re not going to accept the excuse of “I just want to use a mouse.” Buddy, it’s a console—you’re meant to use a controller. Everyone knows why these devices are being bought, and they’re selling like hotcakes. Go on Amazon out-of-stock website. Same literally every couple of months. If that’s not suspicious, I don’t know what is...
What’s even more suspicious is the history behind it. The original Titan device was reportedly developed through a partnership with Sony, which raises even more questions about how this hardware was allowed to become so widespread in the first place.
To be blunt, most games with ranked modes force players into specific regions. The developers know you’re unlikely to sit in long queues, and in many cases there just aren’t enough players. Some regions simply don’t have the population at certain times of day. For example, Fortnite adjusts regions like Oceania (and others) based on time and population. That’s specific to that game, but the general idea applies across many titles. In the end, it all depends on where you’re located and when you’re playing.
All a geofilter does is try to place you within the specific area you’ve designated—it doesn’t guarantee you’ll actually connect to a server there. Matchmaking still has the final say. To add, you also need to know where the servers for the game are, as they differ per game.
I like ranting a little...
-
@18RayFDid you change the server region on the ingame? If not, it’s not going to change. Some games require you to change the region unless you’re using auto mode with a VPN to that specific region. You need to disable geo-latency; you’re clearly bypassing the region you've set, and that wouldn’t happen as I've tested the game; you would get stuck in the login menu, etc.
@SerenadeWell, to be exact, geofilter doesn’t work in every game. The moderator can tell you that, but it does block servers if they’re outside the radius unless there’s a relay. As for the graph ping, yeah, it’s been like that for a while, not something I would rely on anyways. I do believe that's going to be improved, but time will tell.

Netduma r3 packet loss
in Netduma R3 Support
Posted
@CeezThat makes sense. Then it would be hop 3, which shows packet loss. Are you also on the latest firmware? I would try what Fraser suggested, as well as for some reason some modem combo units don’t communicate well in bridge mode correctly, etc.
