This topic has been covered a fair bit in this forum and tends to ruffle feathers. You do not vpn to another country, you use the vpn on port 3074 & 443 to make the game think your geo location is in that country of choice and you connect to local servers. My KD is pretty bad so its very hit and miss but on the most part the lobbies feel more fair. You only VPN Port 3074 & 443 on console.

If your ping sky rockets you are using the VPN wrong. I use a VPN but it is a bit hit & miss and if your kd is low you are better off not using one.

This is a great thread that has been buried and it deserves a BUMP....... I still use the values suggested to prioritize ports for Call of Duty, I was just wondering if anyone has found any other ports/tweaks that improve gameplay? I've played around with lowering band width to my Series X .5 up 5 down and also altering MTU but not really noticed much of a difference. Thanks

That's a good question Fraser, Yes my son plays on a xboxone but I've never really monitored if this happens when he's online. This is something I have only recently noticed happening but it would explain why my gaming experience is so hit and miss. I've just gone into his settings and manually set his alternative port and i will see if this helps. Thanks

Hey Deasha my series X is doing this as well I'm on R2 & XR500..... Most the time it uses 3074 but when it decides to go to an alternative port 50xxx to 56xxx it noticeable affects game play. I was wondering if i could create a traffic prioritisation rule in QOS and if so how would it look?

Sad really that these things need to be put in place just to get an enjoyable experience.

I choose locations where the time is early morning 3am but don't expect bot lobbies, them days have gone.... Some locations do seem to provide better results than others though.

Yeah, that's pretty much what is do.... VPN ports 3074, 443 and geo fence the lowest ping servers. Some people say they have a better experience geo fencing servers with a higher ping due to LCE but I haven't experienced this.

You have the wrong ports VPN'd..... 443 TCP & 3074 UDP is all you need as Netduma Fraser has already mentioned. In my honest opinion you are wasting your time and money. Edit: After reading my comment it sounded harsh 🤣 You will get the odd bot lobby but you will also get sweatie lobbies. It really is hit and miss, well it is for me anyway. It's just not worth the hassle, if you are going to do it just use a standard VPN service that supplies .cfg files.

I own xr500 and just purchased the R2 as it stands the xr500 has given me the better experience but saying that the software on the R2 I'm using is in beta and I'm still tweaking.

I've been tinkering with DNS checker and it looks like my isp DNS servers are the best ones for me but i am a little confused how i should have this setup. My Virgin Hub is set to DMZ mode and when i check the Hub 3.0 info the DNS is 194.168.8.100 (fastest DNS on DNS checker) My XR500 Primary DNS is set to 194.168.8.100 & secondary DNS is set to 194.168.4.100 What should i set my Xbox series X DNS to? Should it be the same as above or just leave it in automatic or something else? Thanks in advance 👍

I've been gaming on xbox since it was released and had a fair few controllers over the years and like you the razer wolverine has been one of the better ones but i am currently using a Victrix gambit which i have had for around 12 mth.... I play most nights for and hour or two and upto now it has performed really well. I would probably go as far to say when this one packs up i will buy another one.

Do you guys still use VPN? I understand how to use one unlike Bullet UK 😂 It just seems a bit hit and miss, I will get the odd decent lobby and then I will get a lobby with just sweats.... I tended to pick locations where the time is after 2 am but I get more consistent lobbies turning VPN off and just using geo location. Cheers

I am having a issue with my xr500 loosing connection to my Virgin hub 3 when i reboot the xr500. I've got the Hub set in modem mode and have the xr500 setup to get the ip dynamically but after a reboot the WAN ip on dashboard is 0.0.0.0 and connection status is disconnected. I have to reboot the hub 3 and wait for it connect to virgin before turning the xr500 back on. Anyone shed any light on what im doing wrong? Thanks

I'm having a problem with just one of my friends whom im trying to get into the geo-fence i've setup. I go through the procedure of turning off filtering mode & auto ping, i invite him to party, put him on my white list and invite him in and all is fine. I switch filtering mode and auto ping back on and start searching for a match but its like the geo-fence is no longer working. This only seems to happen with him and none of my other friends. Im pretty new to Netduma so its a good chance its something im doing wrong but have no idea what. Anyone have a clue what i might be doing wrong? thanks

I've been using nolag and have 3074 udp and 443 tcp I've only had several hours playing fortunes keep and BR but every lobby feels like its full of cheats and sweats so i just end up turning the VPN off due to friends playing with me and thinking the same..... I don't think you are spamming, any help i can get i will take 👌 I've tried 4 or 5 different servers nolag offer and forced geo filter to use the servers closest to my location. I will start tracking using the WZ websites to track KD etc. Thanks for all the tips...👍 Ive messed with all the router settings that much i think i might do a hard reset and start fresh.🤣

I will keep experimenting then as i must be missing something. The lobbies I'm getting are defo above my skill level at the mo. 🙄

Thanks l2eactionz, the lobbies are worse when I have the Vpn running. I end up switching it off and just using geo filter. They seem to be full of people well above my skill level of (1.10kd). In the WZ settings it's showing my location has changed so I know the Vpn is working just not the way I thought 🤣
