Not necessarily, it would be best to put it in the same location as the VPN server you're using. If you're VPNing very far away, you'll struggle to find a game regardless of whether Geo-filter is enabled or not.

Andpodepah got a reaction from prince-horus in Zero PING SPIKES!
    Hi Guys blz.
I've been testing some ways to keep my PING aligned even when I'm doing live, and I've found a QoS rule that can be effective for you too, and that's why I want to share.

Your ISP can never acces your router anyway, just if you turn off ping your router will not respond to a ping from the internet.

If your PS4 gets a IPv6 adress you probably have IPv6, and you can leave it enabled.

I ran some tests with the QoS in the R2 on my PC in Warzone and BLOPS CW a few months ago. I actually found that if I throttled the bandwidth to just 1.5mb down and 0.6mb up, my hit detection was incredible. The initial test was with no other devices using the connection, but even after allowing a TV and XBOX One on at the same time, I was able to share the bandwidth out between the three devices and still achieve a great gaming experience in Warzone and BLOPS CW. If you are able to only use the PS5 while gaming, there IS no need to have super fast Fibre.

If there's nothing else on the network then no, there won't be any congestion and the PS5 will be fine, it's just if you have other devices also generating traffic.

Gaming doesn't ever use much bandwidth really, it's more that it needs to be very consistent and stable. If you were to drop your plan down to much lower speeds, you may experience more local congestion and therefore impact the stability of the connection while gaming. QoS can help with this, but having plenty of contracted bandwidth is also important.

1mb would be hitting the bare minimum. It’s not so much bandwidth to play the game but it’s the latency it creates.
If one Ethernet frame (1500 bytes) of your other devices just started sending from the router, and your game packet arrives at the router. Then at 1mbit link speed it will take your router 12ms to clear that frame before it sends your game packet. At 10mbit upload it would take 1.2ms and at 100mbit it would take 0.12ms, 1Gbit 0.012ms

Latency is a function of bandwidth, but with diminishing returns. Ie going from 100 to 200 mbit is not such a difference (0.12ms VS 0.06ms) but going from 1 to 10mbit is a big difference.

This is also why I suspect that throttling works for some people, ie when you drop your upload bandwidth to 0.5mbit you are creating 0-24ms bufferbloat for yourself and it’s in fact updating the server later.

As for the right side, the error was actually my chrome resolution.
    I've corrected it here.

I've already let the team know to update Ping Heatmap for the servers. Regarding the right hand side, what resolutions are your screens using? If you click Ping to close the window then click the  icon to open it again does it appear normally again?

Same here, I've already reported late last week. I'll re-attach the proof.
PS: For every CoD the Italian server has been misplaced in America for weeks now, I would appreciate it if you could look into that as well!

Andpodepah reacted to Netduma Jack in how do youtubers get such clean connections like this?
There's a few factors - the first is they tend to have a lotta' money, so can get the best ISP related equipment / other network equipment. They need it to make a living; can't have the stream buffering etc, so they take it very seriously.
The second is that these guys will lag as well, but the best videos they put out won't be their laggy footage. They have the ability to select what you see, so viewers think their connection is literally flawless when the reality might be very different.

The in game ping includes processing delay which all games have so that is perfectly normal, both pings are correct - the Geo-Filter is your ping direct to the server

    I understand perfectly.
maybe that's why I feel anticipated playing warzone with moderate nat. that is, my connection gets better.

I always used to play on Mod NAT on BOps3 and IW and have 0 issues.
With MW19, if I use anything but Open (besides struggling to find matches as I play a low playercount gamemode) I have dodgy hit reg and shoot first die first issues.

Thanks for posting! In theory, this shouldn't directly affect your in-game experience, but if it's preventing you from connecting to a low latency server then this will have an affect. Are you able to easily attain an Open NAT but choose to stick to Moderate or have you had troubles getting an Open NAT?

This is something that's still being developed to be more effective and clear, you can tick this if you PS5 is connected via Wi-Fi, but otherwise just leave it disabled!
