Traffic Prioritization Settings: Modern Warefare (BO4)
East replied to East's topic in Call of Duty Support
Hmm, I wonder if the reinstall, even on another console, helped... You see, when you reinstall the game you get the entire game, not the patch version of the game. So it's like the game was never "patched" you simply get that version of the game. Which is why I was told to never wholly rely on patches. Just get the whole game with the newer version. -

@Seye Your results are not bad. 👍 On PC I've found that a reinstall of game that had "Standby list issue" (where game stutters because standby list in win10 was completely full) is now gone with a reinstall. This was BO4. -

Has anyone tried an uninstall and reinstall of Modern Warfare (only if you are experience problems)? --------------- Original Post Updated. -

It's the same as the OP. However, I've been tweaking here and there. 1. Although ABB is set to never I set the download speed to 75% 1st then set ABB to never. For some reason that sticks. I have read no documentation as to what's actually working when you do that. IE: Is ABB actually still working or am I just throttling my download speed? The download meter is still grayed out once set to never so I have to change it back in order to make adjustments to download speed. I did this by accident by the way do to the updates for MW. So I stumbled upon it. Setting ABB to never doesn't give me full bandwidth until I set up/down to 100%. 2. I segmented the ranges 5000 to 8000 increments at a time. So, I went from 30000-35000 or from 35001-42000 and so on. -

Since I uninstall and re-installed the MW and using the rules for traffic prioritization game play has been superb as it's been consistent now. I'm not sure if there is anything left to do. I've had some very easy matches then it goes to sweets and then down right cheating. But in all cases my hit rego and movement fluidity/speed has been consistent. For me, the key to better movement and consistency was a reinstall after an update is released. -

Uninstall then Re-install Modern Warfare if all else fails Ok, I've had MW installed since the day it launched. From my end (pc) I can see which files were updated and which were not (date created/etc). And it's a hosh posh of old and new files. So, I deleted them and did a repair. I've found that ever since then the game is a bit smoother and a tad more responsive. This was some old advice passed down to me sometime ago. That eventually multiple updates can break a game (so uninstall and reinstall the game with the most recent update). I don't think you can do a "repair" on console like I can on PC. For example, on PC I can delete all the files in the main directory. I can then start Battle.net and before the Launch Button is available it will automatically recreate all the missing files. Once replaced the launch button becomes available and I can start the game. All done without having to do a repair, for example. Pretty elaborate if I do say so. However, on console I would suggest a uninstall and reinstall of MW (or any game for that matter) that's had multiple updates. Now, I'm being transparent about this. On PC, there is a lot that can go wrong when a game is updated multiple times during it's life cycle. There is no checks and balances like their are on MS/Sony validation on console. So it's very possible that your updates might be 100% more stable on console then on PC. However, if you've been having issues that you cannot resolve doing it can't hurt. It's just time consuming depending on your download speed. BTW, make sure you max out your DumaOS for downloads. IE: Set ABB to 100%, set your PC/Console on the Bandwidth Allocation to 100%. So you can reaching the maximum download speed. -

Ah yes, I am aware of that. However, there are times were the supposed limitations don't seem to apply as strongly as they normally do. I don't see too often. Nearly everyone scored high kills in this match. Everyone was running around like it's BO4 and having a blast. Hardly any camping that match which is rare. Even though most had as many deaths as kills that didn't stop them from run/gun the entire time. It was a fun, rare match to be in. No one complained of any dodgy behavior either. This is one of those matches where I really wish everyone stayed in the lobby 😅 -

And that's the thing though. It's very apparent that whatever they are doing in MW they are not doing in BO4. Game play is night and day different between the two once the ports are prioritized, etc. And, it's a good litmus test because they both use the same/similar port ranges. So it's a good way to know if the adjusts to DumaOS are indeed working. Right now the only issue with MW is the movement fluidity. There is on time fluidity and hyper fluidity. And I have no idea yet how to get it to hyper fluidity all the time. I've only experienced it a hand full of times. Where you can run around with a assault rifle in MW and it would feel like you had an smg. I'm not sure if you are even suppose to have that kind of advantage. Which is why I think it's the way the game was tailored for me during those matches. However, I'm still looking into that. -

Sable there is a thing called circumstantial evidence . I suggest you look that up. We don't live in a world were if everything is not "told to you"..."it didn't happen". One must use critical thinking and deduction to foster knowledge based on the information provided. Therefore, as I've stated before it's there to bring awareness to what Activision is doing. You have no proof they are not doing this. Nor do you have any proof that it's not in the game. Therefore, what is the point of your post if it's not intended to refute that the patent actually exist? -

These patents were filed April 25, 2019. The reason I'm posting them is to bring awareness to what Activision is doing. It's very likely that your Skill Base will play a light, moderate to severe role as to how well your hit rego and movement is in MW. Therefore, it maybe that your ports are indeed open and prioritized (if you forwarded them and prioritized them) as it should be but the rest is dependent on the slot machine aspect of MW meta they have on you. -

I've tried not doing vise versa with the other rule and it didn't work for me. I have to use both ways for optimal results. In any case did you notice anything with just 1-65535 destination 30000-45000 ? -

This could explain why it's hard to run/gun with lower rank players. You ever get completely melted, BO4 style, by this one player and you find out they are lower ranked then you which make you scratch your head even harder!!!!! I'm going to suggest source 1-65535 destination 30000-45000 and vise versa just to see if there is something other port(s) out there. Just to make sure we aren't missing anything. Has anyone did this yet? -

I'm not surprised. However, what I find alarming is that even in the face of evidence some still deny it's existence. Going as far as calling it something completely different. Which is in of itself an not rational. Anyway, you are right, the best thing to do in such instances is change direction (sort of speaking). So far game play in MW, at least for me, has been a blast so far. I've come across a few cheaters though. LOL, had the whole team talking about this one dude walling everyone. But other then that the game has been better since I've made those changes in the OP. It's not as good as BO4 though (hit rego is bit more crisp and movement is far more fluid). But certainly an improvement since I started looking into this. -

Yeah it's all incidental evidence right now but reading it clearly showed me what I've seen from others. Shots that didn't register but clearly should have as part of the hitbox. But wasn't direct center. To be honest, there is no telling how long they've been "testing" this with us. I'm sure there have been some "trial runs" to obtain stats/data, etc. Something that you can't get in house (part of which is how SBMM works). -

East replied to East's topic in Call of Duty Support
This is why game play will never be as consistent in MW as it is in Bo4 In other words they have been messing with hitbox sizes via SBMM (allegedly). The better you are the smaller the hitboxes get. This explains some stuff. And don't believe those utube shills saying it don't exist this is an actual patent from Activision. They didn't do this for "giggles". It takes some critical thinking and personal experience to know that with all the hoops we have to go through in order to get MW movement/hitrego right something isn't right. Specially when I can go back to BO4 and get a whole different, consistent gaming experience. -

Good to see you finally got it sorted out! Give it a day or so and see if this is consistent. -

@kinel maybe on to something. I've read that before. That those with R1 shouldn't disable ABB. I too mentioned that in the OP. So you might want to give that a try -
Traffic Prioritization Settings: Modern Warefare (BO4)
East replied to East's topic in Call of Duty Support
Yeah, I'm still working on that one. I've updated the OP to remove the 3000-7000 (although not that high in op) as that only prioritized data about your stats it seems. So they aren't needed. I am seeing improvement with movement with just 30000-45000 range. It appears you want to keep the traffic prioritization rules to a minimum (for now). But I am seeing better hit rego with smg's now. Also movement seems better. But it's still nothing like BO4. If I come across anything else I'll update. But the game isn't designed to move like BO4. Although I understand the goal to be to be able to run/gun and shoot 1st kill 1st with smgs in MW is the actual goal (like a minority can do, not sure how yet). But for BO4 it's the "bee's knees" lol. So I'm noticing a slight improvement in movement in BO4 removing those additional rules for Traffic Prioritization. The game felt easy and didn't realize I was getting that many opponents. In MW when sbmm isn't in play I'm seeing much better fluidity though. I can actually run, point and shoot with a lot of success. Now I join this game with about 3-5 minutes of play already in progress. -

Ok I tried @blackfirehawk tip and concentrated on range 30000-45000 and removed the lower ranges 3000-7000 and I was registering hits from those shot at peeping around corners and going back into the corner (MW). So even though they weren't on my screen any more I was still registering hits. Looks like you might want to keep the rules in Traffic Prioritization to a minimum. -

East replied to East's topic in Call of Duty Support
Yeah, it most certainly is working for me in MW. However, do to how they slowed weapon usage down (aim down sight, etc) and the lower player count BO4 really shines when you run/gun IMO. Although I will say that with BO4 things are more consistent. No doubt about that. Which leads me to believe it's a server problem with MW not a prioritization problem. -

East replied to East's topic in Call of Duty Support
Ok there are some dodgy servers out there. I could tell instantly when I joined the match. Sluggish movement, player movements seem off. Getting easily picked off. It's really hard to explain but you know something isn't right. I leave that server and get into another match and all is right again. This is the 1st I've seen that. Not sure what was going on. So if you get into match, regardless of the map, and you know something isn't right just leave and join another. -

Pro Tip: Whenever a game gets multiple updates it's best to do a uninstall and reinstall when you notice problems. This goes for any game. ---------------------------------------------------------------- As for N3CR0 issue it's hard to diagnose a solution until we see some actual game play from him to visually see what exactly is going on. --------------------------------------------------------------- From what I've been told part of sbmm is to de-register hit rego on certain players who are struggling (bullets shoot through a certain player). However, you would have to be completely dominating and have a high k/d. I just found about about this tonight. So I can't say how true that is. --------------------------------------------------------------- Here is some info on how strong SBMM is in this game: https://www.reddit.com/r/modernwarfare/comments/e6ybmj/the_design_proof_of_sbmm_and_how_its_even_worse/ -

Traffic Prioritization Settings: Modern Warefare (BO4)
East replied to East's topic in Call of Duty Support
Well it gives priority to those packets so that you can game as intended by the developers (in laymen terms from my understanding). I'm still looking for that brave person to try and setup their IP modem and play BO4/MW and see if there is any tangible difference? This would help answer the question if there is a difference. And why, from their prospective their friends don't have such a router and yet game so well. Personally, I already know that my modem doesn't improve game play by itself. However, I've read a few posts from some who are adamant about this. From what I've gathered it appears to be a server issue on Activision end. From what I've read it's the belief that the servers used are antiquated/over saturated and are in dare need of upgrading. This is why some matches are worst then others. Now this is besides the SBMM which compounds it. I can't say if that's true or not. But if it is it would explain a lot. That would also explain why in other games like BF series, game play and hit rego is so consistent. But again, I can't confirm this to be the case. -

Seye Ok, I've played a few rounds in MW, several different maps and must say that UDP does indeed work well instead of both.
