Fast Setup VPN Not Working With hidemyass

I have tried all i can think of to get this to work. I brought hidemyass vpn as it was in the fast setup and i just keep getting the

failed to communicate with router error.

 

I have no firewall.

Restarted router.

Updated router.

Nothing.

You will need a user name and password as well as the HMA config file. You need to copy/paste the config file into the advanced section on R1.

 

If you have done this correctly and you're sure that your anti-virus / firewall are disabled, please untick "enable" and click apply before restarting the router. Then, try to connect to a different server. The issue is usually caused by trying to connect to a server that's currently down.

 

You could also post your config file here and someone who uses HMA might be able to advise you.

I found this out the hard way after hours last night. The quick setup for hma dose not work at all.

I was trying to unlock mass effect from and different region on xbox. Got it all set up and found out that the game is locked to the region you buy it in.

What a bummer.

Just FYI if you want to know why it doesn't work anymore with the quick setup, OpenVPN had an update so without doing an update on the R1 (which we can't do until DumaOS) then the config file is the solution currently. That is a bummer
