MIPS the Bunny
Blops III PC version First off I am not sure if the PC version is even supported, I have just tried using the XBL filter. It does seem to work though as the hosts are always within the bubble. It also seems to be denying people outside of the bubble. So my first question is: does the R1 work with the PC version of blops III using the xbl filter? Or is it just the standard matchmaking that is connecting me to close servers? If not is there anyway to make it work? Generally I would get anywhere from 35-50 m/s latency without the R1, which I am assuming is pretty good. After connecting everything the connection is pretty much the same. I put the m/s filter to 35 and I had similar speeds as before (albeit slightly better). There is a dedicated server located about 25 kilometers away from me. Is there a way to force that server every time, and is that advantageous to do? One of the major reasons i got the router was because when I play zombies at night it keeps connecting me with people in Canada and I live in Florida. It is not fun to play at 200-300 m/s. I will try that later on tonight. Next regarding the VPN function. Is hidemyass the only vender available? I just bought a subscription to airvpn a few months ago, so I'd rather not buy another subscription if I don't have to. So I figured I'd ask before buying it. Is there any difference between running the the ISP router/modem as a modem pass through only, or can I just run a Ethernet cord from the ISP hub to the PoE per the instructions. Obviously it works, but is there any reason to do it the other way? I greatly appreciate anyone that can help me out with nay of these questions. Have a good one, MIPS
A7Legit
Hi. 1. It should be fine using XBL or PSN, try both to see which one works better for you. 2. Set the radius of the Geo-filter to your desired area. This should block out those you do not want to game with, set the radius near that dedicated server 25km's away from you and keep the radius there. 3. Regarding VPN's, you can use any that you desire, it is just that the Netduma team decided on having a quick connect setup for those using HMA VPN. You can in theory gather the data you would need from your VPN provider and put that info in manually. 4. I've always been a keen believer that using your ISP provided modem/router as a dedicated router alone and allowing the Netduma R1 to do all the heavy lifting the best method but everybody's setup(s) are different, why not try both and see how you fair?
