Using NET Duma in Australia

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

Purchased and received my duma on Monday. I have had little time at home to set it up but I was just wondering how everyone out there in Australia/Sydney is going with their Duma?

I play Black Ops 3 on Xbox 1 and I'm wondering about the Geo-Filter.

The few brief moments I have had to test it out were not very encouraging. I set the location to the middle of Australia and the range to 3000km to cover the whole country. I searched for a came of Core -> Domination and it just sat there searching for 10 minutes, finding a couple of games and not joining. There was a few (maybe 4 or 5) red circles that came up inside the country but it never joined. As soon as I expanded the Geo-Filter within seconds I had joined a game where the server was on the East coast of USA.

The other issue I have is with my old router I was able to get 10-12Mbit/s download on speedtest.net but when I set up the R1 it was throttling it at 7Mbit/s. I fiddled with the settings and updated the firmware and it got up to 10Mbit/s.

If I can't get the Geo-Filter to connect to servers in my own country, what is the returns policy in place for this router?

Thanks guys!

Hey, welcome to the forum :)

What do you have ping assist set to? If you're not already, try settings it to about 50 in case there are servers that are close to you but have been mis-located on the GeoFilter.

Thanks Crossy.

I left the ping assist set to 30ms but I'll try changing it tonight.

Would having the ethernet cable from the DUMA to my old router and then into the Cable broadband modem make any differences?

Thanks

No, that shouldn't make a difference as long as all your devices are connected to the Netduma :)

Hi mate, I am in Australia also and I can assure you those servers you see in America are in the wrong location, I ping 15ms to them from Brisbane. As for not finding games I am in the exact same boat, this I ly happened after updating the netduma, disabling it has yielded good results, it's pretty damn frustrating because it made the unplayable advanced warfare fun again. Hell, I even heard cod on Xbone is just fail lately so it's probably just Activision screwing it's fans. When I get a chance I'll connect my ps4 up and see if I have the same issues with duma/cod, if I don't I will let you know.
