Compatible Modem

need a new router, i found this on sale for $35 Arris/Motorola® SBG6580 SURFboard® DOCSIS3.0 Wireless Cable Modem Gateway

 

but i read somewhere this was incompatible with the netduma because of the IEEE?

 

if so what do i get, i live in the U.S. i have a Zoom Model 5341J Cable Modem which starts up after a very long time (10 minutes) im afraid its going out.

 

i dont want another Zoom so which modem is compatible?

I think that model is fine, I think it is one of the other ones that has the issue. Perhaps the people that had the issue can comment, I can't remember the specific model number but really anything should work just fine

If you can, find out if your device has the BCM3383 chipset? If so there will be issues with the modem. Example modems are:

• --Arris/Motorola SB6183
  
• --Netgear CM500
