lowkeyy
i recently purchased the netduma a few days ago and i was hoping if anyone can help me or other people in my situation. Im not no geek or whiz kid on a computer, i don't know much but im struggling to get the netduma to work efficiently. i have seen tutorials on youtube but they have other 3rd party routers (e.g. tp link) which i don't own. but what i do have is a virgin line (100mb fibre optic) with a virgin super hub 2 only and was wondering if it is still possible to efficiently use the netduma as it ought to be used. would i have to buy any more accessories or am i good to go with just the super hub from virgin media? Any suggestions on a step by step guide would be really appreciated
DJ*
You shouldn't need to buy anything else. The two main options to connect the R1 to Virgin hub are. 1. Connect the R1 via the supplied cat6 Ethernet cable to one of the Virgin hubs Ethernet ports and follow the set up guide NetDuma provides. 2. Put your Virgin Hub into Modem only mode and then similarly connect the R1 and enter your pppoe username and password into the WAN section on R1 [you might need to contact Virgin to confirm what your username and password is] then follow the set up guides provided by Netduma. If you have any issues with specific functions not working with you current R1 setup then post back in the support section and one of the Netduma staff will respond when they can. Good luck. Guest Netduma_Iain
Hi lowkeyy, Firstly thanks for purchasing the R1. As the others have said don't worry you don't need any other equipment to use it. I am also on virgin media as well. If you want the optimum set-up you'll want to put the superhub in modem mode. To start with I suggest you do NOT do that, we can do that later once you're installed. First thing you should do is connect port 1 on the duma router to any of the available ports on the virgin media using the red cable we supplied. Then you need to connect all your wired devices to the Netdumas other available ports and get all your wireless devices to connect to the "Netduma R1" network. The password is explained in the quickstart guide. Once you've done that go to 192.168.88.1 on your web browser, I suggest you chrome/firefox though. After that a tour guide will get you started

Kill_All_Hippies
Just a quick question, im in the same boat as you guys, Virgin Media customer etc... When i got the Netduma i was already using the virgin hub in modem mode so i basically just replaced old router and plugged the R1 in and went from there. I havent done any PPPOE stuff. Should i have? Didnt think it was needed?
Guest Netduma_Iain
You're using it right KAH. DJ was very helpful but I think he's mistaking it with BT, Virgin does not use PPPoE
