ByMgRs
I just came off the xbox and sat in the front room to watch a YouTube video, go in the kitchen and then come back and my wifi won't connect on my phone so I go and look at my netduma and all of the lights are off, so I assumed the European adapter fuse had gone so I changed it with another 3a fuse but still nothing, I leave it another 10 minutes nothing! I have had to setup my bt router I had hidden in a dark dank closset hopefully never to see the light of day so basically my router turned into a brick please help! Guest Netduma Fraser
Have you recently upgraded? If so can you try connecting by an ethernet cable and try accessing "http://r1"or "http://192.168.88.1" or "http://192.168.1.1" please

Guest Netduma Fraser
But it is literally dud I can't connect Did you notice if you had a brief power cut before checking the router?

Guest Netduma Fraser
No as the television was on and lights in the house and nothing happened Have you noticed it getting particularly hot? Is it possible you broke the power unit? Have you tried plugging it into a new plug socket?

ByMgRs
When I noticed the wifi was down I put my hand on the router and it was hotter than normal
Guest Netduma Luke
So just to clarify, the power adapter has died but everything else is working fine?
ByMgRs
I believe so but why did the power supply blow in the first place if there wasn't a power cut and why was the router hotter than normal
abc123
you can grab a new "official" power supply here: http://routerboard.com/18POW
abc123
I believe so but why did the power supply blow in the first place if there wasn't a power cut and why was the router hotter than normal it likely isn't dead, however if opened you'd find a bad component. There is always a percentage chance for receiving an item that will go bad, especially with electronics.
ByMgRs
Ok so if there is a 'bad component' is that something I should worry about
ByMgRs
And wouldn't that be under warranty
Guest Netduma Luke
Ok so if there is a 'bad component' is that something I should worry about It could be a fuse that has gone or perhaps something else. Don't plug the broken one back in for now - the good news is the router is fine. I'll get back you you asap on warranty etc.
