CaptainPerox
So i recently bought a CyberGhostVPN and when i tried to set it up, i already failed. When i went to the site, to download the configuration it gave me this: http://prntscr.com/8cvgc3 So then i went ahead and downloaded the Linux one as i assumed that the router was running linux, then it downloaded these 4 files: http://prntscr.com/8cvgnhWhat am i supposed to do, i tried alot of things. the OpenVPN.ovpn contains this: client remote 1-gb.cg-dialup.net 443 dev tun proto udp auth-user-pass dhcp-renew dhcp-release resolv-retry infinite redirect-gateway def1 persist-key persist-tun nobind cipher AES-256-CBC auth MD5 ping 5 ping-exit 60 ping-timer-rem explicit-exit-notify 2 script-security 2 remote-cert-tls server route-delay 5 tun-mtu 1500 fragment 1300 mssfix 1300 verb 4 comp-lzo ca ca.crt cert client.crt key client.key But what am i supposed to do with the other 3 files? Early thanks!
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted September 5, 2015 Netduma Staff Share Posted September 5, 2015 Hi CaptainPerox, welcome to the forum Try pasting the content of ca.crt in tags, the content of client.crt in tags and finally the content of client.key in tags. This would be below the long list of options.

Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted September 6, 2015 Netduma Staff Share Posted September 6, 2015 Try deleting the whole 'cert' section You might also want to remove the public key from above because I'm not sure if that is sensitive info. If that doesn't work can you post what it says in the VPN log.
CaptainPerox
I took a part out of the public key, it still gives the error, failed to connect. It doesn't post anything in the VPN Log.
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted September 7, 2015 Netduma Staff Share Posted September 7, 2015 Try these three and see if any of them work 1, 2, 3. Remember to put the actual key in the key tags at the bottom

Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted September 7, 2015 Netduma Staff Share Posted September 7, 2015 For some reason this still doesn't work, it even doesn't show any logs. Would you be able to open a support ticket with the VPN provider and ask them to make you a VPN config file for Open VPN?

CaptainPerox
I tried them without explicit-exit-notify 2 yet it still doesn't even show any logs. I'm also not to sure, when they ask me the operating system on the download page, what operation system do i select?

CaptainPerox
Hmmm so i did it correct, but i still don't get why it always fails at showing the logs. What should i do in order to get it to create logs?
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted September 8, 2015 Netduma Staff Share Posted September 8, 2015 I think the logs are only made if it actually connects. Have you been given a username and password to enter at all?

Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted September 8, 2015 Netduma Staff Share Posted September 8, 2015 Yes, and they are entered in. Ok. I think it is a problem with the config file. Could you try a config for a different server? Or are you able to open up a support ticket and tell them that your VPN client requires everything to be put into one file and see if they can make you one? Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 8, 2015 Administrators Share Posted September 8, 2015 Please try Crossys suggestion, otherwise you can PM me with the entire config and your username & password if you don't mind sharing it and I will try and troubleshoot it myself directly
