Woof Dah
Running my R1 as out of the box. My Xbox One is the only wired connection. Congestion Control is set to 70%. When I connect my Xbox directly from the modem my speed is 85MB down and 25MB up. When I connect it via the R1 it's 23MB down and 13MB up. I understand wireless devices will draw some of the bandwidth but with my previous router it was still significantly higher. What do I need to do to get my speed back up? Thanks. Woof Dah
I dug out my old Netgear router and connected it with the same set up as my R1. Connected the same wireless devices as well. Ran a speed test and I'm getting 83MB down and 24MB up. That's a huge difference compared to 23MB/13MB with my R1.

On my Upgrade menu it says R1 debug version 1.02.2 running on rb-951g-2hnd. But you're saying I should be on 1.02.6 or greater. Whenever I click on the Upgrade link I'm told I'm running the latest firmware:
Woof Dah
did you do these? Congestion Control > algorithm > Reactive Settings > Misc > disable deep packet inspection you should be able to get 160Mb/s Thanks abc123 for your patience (reminds me of when you walked me through VoG on Destiny). But I'm having no luck. Set the congestion control to reactive and disabled deep packet inspection and I'm getting speeds of 25MB/9MB. Just connected my Netgear router again and it was 108MB/25MB. Woof Dah
I can't keep switching back to my old router that gives me more than 4x the bandwidth of my R1 just to play on my Xbox. Could my R1 be defective?

Buds
Also it won't account for the full difference, but remember: Running my R1 as out of the box. My Xbox One is the only wired connection. Congestion Control is set to 70%. Means you are throttling your connection to 70% of its throughput. To assess the current difference fully you need to set congestion control back to 100% (if you have not already).
Guest Netduma_Iain
Hi Woof Dah, Its not necessary to keep switching routers. We all agree its too low, but don't worry its just a setting on the router that is probably reducing it for you in the aim to stop other people lagging. Please make sure you do the following on version .6: On congestion control page, select reactive please On "Settings > Misc" disable deep packet processing On congestion control at the top of the page, set the upload & download bar to 100% At the bottom of the congestion control page click "Reset Distribution" Then try a speedtest please
fuzzy clam
I think a lot of people forget to set congestion control back to 100 % when the run a speedtest and then their speed sucks.I know i did that a few times and thought WTF.
