randompunk
Hi all, Received my netduma router today. Seeing the quick start guide I see it needs to be plugged directly in to my main router. I was wondering as my PC and consoles are in my spare room running off a homeplug can I plug the netduma router in to the home plug instead of my main router? This will just save Ethernet cables going from spare room to the hall way and getting tripped over by them. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Lee
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted August 14, 2015 Netduma Staff Share Posted August 14, 2015 Hi Lee, welcome to the forum Would it not be possible for you to have it go Old Router >> Netduma >> Consoles. With the Netduma next to the main router then the home plugs just connected to the Netduma instead?
randompunk
Thank you, that sounds feasible. But I would of liked my consoles and PC plugged in to the Netduma. My PC and consoles I used are wired for better connection. Will o be able to make full use of the netduma if the homeplugs are connected to the Netduma rather than the main router. I guess if the home plugs are accessing the internet via the Netduma anything connecting to the internet wirelessly will go through the Netduma. Thank you very much for your reply... I am going to have to set it all up and see what works best.
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted August 14, 2015 Netduma Staff Share Posted August 14, 2015 Ok I would recommend this: Other Router >> Netduma >> All devices. So all devices connected to the Netduma, wifi, wired or home plugs. That way you can make most of all the features the Netduma has

Akic
I've been using homeplugs in my networks for ages, good solid reliable bits of kit these days and easy to set up. Recently upgraded to AV1200 spec and those bad boys scream....massive throughput
bagsta69
I'll give em a big thumbs up too, don't know how I managed without em. I even introduced an Ethernet switch to mission control and all works great
