VPN Provider Installation

Hi!

 

How can I set up a new VPN provider? 

 

I tried to paste the ovpn config into 'Advanced VPN Connections Settings' but it always failed to connect.

VPN works on macbook with tunnelblick.

Ok the solution was to do with the config file itself. There were two things missing from the one he got by his VPN provider.

 

1. The first line of the config file needs "client"
2. The ca.crt needs to be inlined, you can do this by opening ca.crt, copying the entire file and pasting inbetween <ca> and </ca>

So just to clarify on the second point. You need your usual config file then at the bottom put

 

<ca>

-paste your entire ca.crt here

</ca>

For Private Internet Access VPN I had to remove this line after following the above instructions:

 

crl-verify crl.pem
