akuronoka0617 Posted Wednesday at 05:40 PM Posted Wednesday at 05:40 PM I’m attaching screenshots of my settings. I’m trying this from Korea, and when I search for a match it finds a host at around 140 ping in North America, but it never actually matches. Even if I set the region to Korea and Japan, it tries to match at around 20 ping, but still can’t lock onto a host. Is there any way to fix this? Geofencing works fine in my other games, but for Black Ops it just doesn’t work automatically.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted yesterday at 07:15 AM Administrators Posted yesterday at 07:15 AM Zoom out of the map fully, there may be a server that is getting blocked that you need to allow i.e. an authentication server like in Ireland. Also your console is showing as inactive, double check the IP on your console and double check it's the same IP as the one showing for the device you think it is on the Device Manager, if not find the correct device and add that to the Geo-Filter.
akuronoka0617 Posted yesterday at 07:34 AM Author Posted yesterday at 07:34 AM I checked the suggestion about monitoring which servers are being blocked during matchmaking by looking through other threads, but aside from the Dublin server that appears when I first log into the game, I don’t see any other servers being blocked. My console is correctly registered with the Geo-Filter, and I want to point out again that other games are working normally.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted 7 hours ago Administrators Posted 7 hours ago There will be quite a few servers in that Irish location so you may need to do it a few times before you can properly filter. They may also have a ping limit in place that will prevent you from connecting to a server that far away - they did this in an update to Ricochet Anti-Cheat in BO6 so unless they've removed it then its likely still present in BO7.
akuronoka0617 Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago Quote Turns out the devs actually put a block on players with high ping, so people over a certain threshold just don’t get matches at all. I tried setting my geofilter to Asia and matchmaking started working normally again. I’ve been away from the game for a while so I had no idea they’d made this change. Kind of a bummer, since it’s already pretty rough trying to enjoy Call of Duty from Asia for a bunch of different reasons, and now it’s even harder.
