I just got the R3, I’m in Australia from the USA. How do I connect to US servers to play Black Ops 4 Blackout? I can’t connect to any server/lobby on BO4 or BO7 S02.

Do this:

  1. Quit the application/game/client completely - including the game client from the System Tray - important!
  2. Remove device from the Geo-Filter
  3. If you're on PC then give it the PlayStation Device Type in the Device Manager
  4. Resync from the Geo-Filter Map menu
  5. Re-add the device to the Geo-Filter
  6. Set up the Geo-Filter how you like
  7. Wait 2 minutes
  8. Boot up application/game/client

To force servers you need to do the following:

It's essential the Geo-Filter is enabled before the game client (e.g. Steam etc) if on PC or platform (e.g. Xbox, PlayStation) or the game have been launched. If you change Geo-Filter settings when you're on the game then you will need to restart the game for those changes to take effect, otherwise it will use the previous Geo-Filter settings and appear not to be working.

For settings ensure Ping Assist and Geo-Latency are disabled in the Geo-Filter menu that can be found by clicking ⋮ in the top right hand corner of the page and go to Settings.

Strict Mode should also be enabled, it is enabled by default so if you haven't disabled it you can ignore it. If you have disabled it or want to check it can be found in the same Settings menu as above or in Settings > Troubleshooting > Advanced > Developer Options depending on your firmware version. Fast Search should also be disabled which it is by default so can be ignored if you haven't changed it, otherwise this can be found in the same place.

Do keep in mind that the purpose of the router isn't to force servers really far away and that as a result of the high ping you will have that it may not be as easy to connect to those servers.

Thank you. Would a VPN help me connect? I can’t connect to any servers and it’s just odd since I know Australia has servers. I know Black OPs 4 is old but Black OPs 7 S02 just dropped and I can’t connect to any servers close or far.

Also, I’m using the app from my iPhone, do I need a computer to do anything? If I get a VPN, would I be able to copy and paste from my iPhone?

A VPN is likely to make it more difficult honestly but it may help force them. You don't need a computer, you could copy and paste from your phone I should think.

What is the model of the modem/router the R3 is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode

What platform are you playing on and how is it connected, via ethernet or WiFi?

The Netduma R3 is connected directly to the Opticomm/NBN connection box (no modem/router in between).

The previous TP-Link router has been removed from the upstream connection. The R3 is now the primary router receiving a public WAN IP (125.x.x.x), so it is not behind CGNAT anymore and not in a DMZ.

The PS5 is the platform I’m playing on, and it is connected via Ethernet through a wall port. The wall ports are fed from the R3 LAN ports via the home patch panel.

Geo-Filter has been disabled during testing, and UPnP is enabled on the R3.

Odd that you're not finding matches in BO7. I'm in Australia and i find local matches fine, although sometimes it connects me to servers in Japan/Singapore etc. when our servers are in Sydney.

Have you tried assigning your PS5 a static IP and putting it in the DMZ?

CG-NAT is not dependent on removing an extra router from your setup, it's on the ISP side - look at the bottom of this guide to test if you have a CG-NAT https://support.netduma.com/docs/dumaos-3/open-nat/

It's very odd though that you can't connect to close servers even without the Geo-Filter and on the latest game. Are you having any other internet issues? Are you able to play any other online games?

I was able to join BO7 multiplayer but not the Royale or Blackout on BO4. I have a static ip with my ISP and they said the CGNAT is off. My PlayStation account is a US account, does that matter? I can only play on US servers when I join friends lobbies in the US but not on my own. I’ve been changing settings after using ChatGPT but it doesn’t work. I just want to be able to play without needing to join a friends lobby.

Quite possibly that could be a reason - make a new account if possible (maybe there is a free trial?) and see if you can match more easily
