SlimThicRick Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I spent all of this monry for this router and it can't even do the one thing I paid for it to do. I'm on a PC running the latest firmware. (I've tried previous firmware and even beta firmware) EVERYTIME I want to play Call of Duty, I have to log into the menu and delete my pc as a device, resync, readd my device, then boot to the game. Not 1 time will the geo filter work as strict and block out servers that are not in my custom drawn box nor the standard circle. I've set my pc to show as a Playstation, and Xbox and neither will work.I never had this issue when I used my Netgear XR1000 previously. This thing literally is a paper weight. I get that there are bugs, R&D, testing, and all of that but damn. Is there something im missing here? Is there some magical fix to get it to work?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted 9 hours ago Administrators Posted 9 hours ago I get why you might feel that way, but I think it's a bit early to make that assumption before you've properly had support for the issue. To force servers you need to do the following: It's essential the Geo-Filter is enabled before the game client (e.g. Steam etc) if on PC or platform (e.g. Xbox, PlayStation) or the game have been launched. If you change Geo-Filter settings when you're on the game then you will need to restart the game for those changes to take effect, otherwise it will use the previous Geo-Filter settings and appear not to be working. For settings ensure Ping Assist and Geo-Latency are disabled in the Geo-Filter menu that can be found by clicking ⋮ in the top right hand corner of the page and go to Settings. Strict Mode should also be enabled, it is enabled by default so if you haven't disabled it you can ignore it. If you have disabled it or want to check it can be found in Settings > Troubleshooting > Advanced > Developer Options. Fast Search should also be disabled which it is by default so can be ignored if you haven't changed it, otherwise this can be found in the same place.
SlimThicRick Posted 9 hours ago Author Posted 9 hours ago I've seen this same auto response in many threads before. This doesn't work for me. I've seached redditt and here for quite some time before I even said anything.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted 9 hours ago Administrators Posted 9 hours ago It is almost always due to settings, please provide a screenshot of your Geo-Filter page when you see the issue happen
