I know my cables will effect the speed but this is some drop off.

Ton câble doit être cassé, il est réduit au fast ethernet soit 100mbps max UL/DL.

Essayes avec un autre câble !

As above, 100Mbps is a hard limit on some ethernet cables so it's possible your one is faulty or you need an ethernet cable that supports 1000Mbps - Cat5e or higher. If you replace the cable connecting the router to the ISP router/modem do you then get faster speeds?

I've taken out a hub that was 10/100 and put two, gbp cables in, but only getting 250mb max at pc and xbox, thats behind the netduma.

Will do some more cable investigating tomorrow.

Cable from the wall socket to the router is CAT5E and replaced it with another and it makes no difference.

Okay great, it's unlikely to be a cable now. How have you set your ISP router to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode. Are ALL devices connected to the R3?

R3 is in DMZ on other router or I'll get double nat.

No not every thing is behind the R3, but I guess that could explain it.

Long story why every thing isn't behind,

It could be it, if it's not possible then briefly as a test, remove everything via ethernet to the ISP router other than the R3, disable the WiFi on the ISP router then do a speedtest.net test through the R3. If you get good speeds that'll be it, if not it may not be helping but won't be the main cause

So that test was done with in my Asus routers software, so I'm "guessing" the connection is syncing at 500MB, when it should be 900mb, the guaranteed being 500mb.

But if I do a speed test via wifi on the ASUS I'm only getting 250mb. I've not got a long cable or any thing like a laptop to get by the router enough to test yet.

Kinda thinking I've been put on the wrong profile for what I ordered.

So asked the question on plusnet forums and get this as an answer, helpful...

Yeah that's a less than useful answer, clearly didn't read it properly. It's possible they didn't update it correctly but also if this is a new upgrade then it can take some time to settle, in which case you may just see the guaranteed speeds for a few days/weeks and then it'll start to improve. Probably best to give them a call to determine exactly what is happening.
