Abdalla Posted Sunday at 10:06 AM Posted Sunday at 10:06 AM Hey everyone, I have been using Netduma R3 for a while now and tried set it up properly for PS5 + Warzone, but I’m running into persistent issues and could really use guidance from experienced R3 users. My setup Internet: 5G router (this is my main modem / WAN source) Router: Netduma R3 Console: PS5 (wired Ethernet) Game: Warzone Topology: 5G Router → Netduma R3 → PS5 The problem Frequent lag spikes / jitter Very inconsistent hit registration (bullets not landing, delayed damage) Gunfights feel desynced even when ping looks “okay” Happens even in low-ping lobbies This feels more like bufferbloat / routing / NAT behavior than raw latency. What I'm unsure about QoS / Congestion Control: What’s the best starting point for upload/download caps on unstable 5G? Anti-Bufferbloat % recommendations for Warzone? PS5 / Warzone-specific tips: Any must-change R3 settings that help hit reg specifically? NAT / UPnP / port forwarding best practices on R3 + PS5? What I’m aiming for Stable connection (even if ping isn’t perfect) Consistent hit registration Fewer micro-stutters during fights Prioritize PS5 traffic correctly on 5G If anyone is running R3 + 5G internet + PS5 successfully, I’d really appreciate: Screenshots of key settings Recommended QoS values Confirmation of router/AP mode choice
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted Sunday at 06:15 PM Administrators Posted Sunday at 06:15 PM With 5G that's really going to be your inherent cause of issues as just by its very nature it's not going to be entirely consistent so the router can only do much by stabilizing everything on your end but it can't counteract that. How have you set the 5G router to pass all traffic through to the R3 e.g. DMZ, modem/bridge mode? Are ALL devices connected to the R3? There are no specific settings for 5G as Congestion Control ensures devices don't cause each other issues, nothing to compensate for inherent connection quality issues. We always suggest starting at 70% for download/upload and then fine tuning from there based on your experience. What are the speeds you pay for/receive? Have you entered those speeds into the router? How have you setup SmartBOOST? How have you setup the Geo-Filter?
Abdalla Posted yesterday at 06:03 AM Author Posted yesterday at 06:03 AM My setup is as follows: The 5G router has the Netduma R3 set as DMZ All devices (PS5 included) are connected only to the R3 No devices are connected directly to the 5G router Connection speeds: Typical peak speeds: ~1 Gbps download / 100 Mbps upload For stability, I manually entered 100 Mbps down / 50 Mbps up into the R3 Congestion Control: After extensive testing and waveform bufferbloat checks, I settled on: 30.5% download 19.5% upload This consistently gives me A+ bufferbloat However, jitter does not go below ~5 ms I’m trying to understand whether this level of jitter is considered normal/expected on 5G, or if there is anything further the R3 can do to reduce it SmartBOOST: Enabled Only the PS5 is set to maximum priority Other devices are not explicitly defined, as I assumed they wouldn’t affect the PS5 due to Congestion Control Please advise if explicitly assigning lower priorities to other devices would provide any measurable benefit Other settings: PS5 is set as DMZ on the R3 Geo-Filter and Steady Ping are currently not enabled I’d like to know if enabling either of these would make a meaningful difference to jitter or stability on a 5G connection, or if their impact would be minimal in this scenario
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted yesterday at 03:14 PM Administrators Posted yesterday at 03:14 PM You should enter the speeds you're actually paying for/receiving and then adjust Congestion Control from there. Entering lower speeds won't give you more stability. Once you've done this and found the best Congestion Control settings you'll see what you're left with. Make sure you have speed test bypass disabled on the Congestion Control page while conducting the tests. 5 ms is really good for 5G to be honest, I'd be shocked if you could get it any lower, I thought it would be much higher.
Krush Posted yesterday at 07:16 PM Posted yesterday at 07:16 PM Quel Routeur LTE 5G utilisez vous ?

I’ve tested multiple bands and currently have the modem band-locked to the combination that gives me the best SINR and RSRQ, rather than chasing peak throughput. My goal was stability and lower jitter. My jitter has dropped to around 3–4 ms, compared to ~5 ms previously, without any changes on the R3 side. I’m assuming this improvement is related to tower load, scheduling, or band conditions rather than router configuration. Netduma Fraser 1
Krush Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Je comprends, le but est de jouer dans les meilleurs conditions ! C’est génial de voir que vous ayez réussi à stabiliser côté LTE / SA
