Shane Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Hi all, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I have a couple of questions regarding the R2 please as i'm thinking of buying it. Can I connect it straight to the Open Reach box and remove the BT Home Hub from the loop entirely? What's the wireless performance like? I cannot Hardwire any device to it due to location. Thank you.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted 8 hours ago Administrators Posted 8 hours ago To answer your questions: It depends on whether they require you to use their hub with the box or not, if they don't then yes it should be fine to do that as long as you can connect them via ethernet (the R2 is a router only) It's AC WiFi/WiFi 5 so a couple of generations behind now but it should be sufficient, however it all depends on the size of your home, the thickness of walls etc I would recommend not purchasing the R2 though - you won't have any warranty from us, it's older tech, it won't get the latest updates now

I have this on wall in the front room with an ethernet going straight into BT Homehub routers WAN port. That's the entire setup Can I just swap out the homehub for either R2/R3? Also. for the Wireless, it's a newbuild house so it's mainly made of cardboard
