unable to ping

l am getting the 'ping failed! error on my router.l cannot see my ping results'

Not all games respond to pings so that can happen, in which case it's better to then look at the ping in game instead

Normally I get 58 ping, but it shows 25 ping below.

Yeah it can happen a lot. That's good if you're getting a lower ping though correct?

My usual ping is between 50 and 58 ms; I don't actually get the 25 ms value shown there while playing.

If you click on the arrow for the ping part, does it show the ping method as direct or traced? I suspect based on everything you mentioned it will be traced which then makes sense. Again the server isn't responding to a direct ping so as a backup it tries to do a trace to the server but as it won't respond it will take the last ping response and display it to you. The hope is it will be somewhat close to what it is but that doesn't always happen.
