I have a cod server 2 hours away from me but the best server is halfway across the middle of the us.Why is that should the best server be the closest.

It's the same in game and on the ping heatmap. The server is chicago but i'm in ny the chicago server is 29 ms the ny is 43ms.I would think the closest server would be better.

Not sure if it's rite  but from geo filter the nyc server i sometimes get is HY6C3L NYC and the CHICAGO server is1291QZJ the chicago server ping is always lower for me

So the first one is New Jersey but close enough and the second one is in Illinois so both are pretty much correct. It is then very bizarre that you're not getting a better ping to the server closest to you, that's likely an ISP routing issue that isn't something we could resolve. You could go to them about it and see if they can investigate, if so the IP for the NYC server is: 64.176.200.193

Another thing i just watch happen is they try to place me in a irland server but the filter blocks it and forces me to play offline and when i do get a us server there is a 5 second packet berst at the start and everything feels like i'm behind shoot first die first. Not sure if it has any thing with servers or not

The Ireland server connection should be allowed, it's for authentication, if it's actually blocking it then add that to the allow list and it should be better. If you could give us the ID we can whitelist it.

1fd98cg from the geo filter but what would make the packet loss at the start

Thanks! If it's blocking an authentication server then it may try and connect you via a different route which could cause it. After allowing it do you notice its improved?

Good to hear! If the VPN isn't applying to your device then it's just a coincidence unless the ports being used are the same and its getting confused but its unlikely

Ok thanks again i'm reaching out to my internet provider to see if they can do something on their end.
