Szentyr Posted July 8 Posted July 8 Hi I recently got my hands on a R3 but I can't set it up properly so I was looking for some advice. When I first start up the R3 and get it connected to the internet it asks me to update, if I chose to update if give me this message(sometimes the youtube vid will load othertimes it just has an error), the X and the OK when clicked do nothing and I have to reload the page, I tried this process 5 times and got the same result each time, only one of these times did it even try and initialize the update but within a few moments it went to this screen, all the other times it went straight to this message. If I skip the update I make it to this page but it never manages to get to the next stage either. After attempting to load it keeps giving me this page, I tried a number of times and ended up just clicking "Continue Anyway" Most of the settings will let me enter values/run them but the ping optimiser will not and gives me the below error. Finally once reaching this stage I get to the below loading screen but this screen never actually loads it just gets stuck eternally on the loading screen. I've factory reset with that little hole a couple times and restarted the modem/powered it off a few times but not having any luck, is it broken or is there a fix for this issue? When I try to use the IOS app it just gives me "unkown error" Thanks S
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 10 Administrators Posted July 10 Close the interface, hold the reset button in the back for 30 seconds, release and wait 4 minutes. Then attempt accessing/seting up via the DumaOS app only, don't allow it to update and skip the speed test and anything else, then see if you can get through to the interface and have it load correctly
Szentyr Posted July 12 Author Posted July 12 Gave the reset a go and no luck, skipping things was the only way I got to that final loading screen, did it again a few times while skipping everything but nothing changed, still loads eternally.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 12 Administrators Posted July 12 Unplug it from power for 10 minutes, plug in, wait 4 minutes then try accessing again please
Szentyr Posted July 28 Author Posted July 28 I gave that a go but no luck, when I try to access on my phone it also doesn't work but I can get to a screen where it lets me upload the firmware, but my iphone doesn't seem to want to let me download the file so that I can upload it to the R3. Could you tell me what the (http://192.168.77.1/) address is for updating the firmware? wondering if I could maybe access that page and upload it to fix this.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 28 Administrators Posted July 28 Here is the page that should allow you to upload the firmware http://192.168.77.1/dumaweb#!/support
Szentyr Posted September 8 Author Posted September 8 its not letting me load that either, any more ideas? can I TFPT into it or something to update the firmware?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 8 Administrators Posted September 8 What are you seeing when you try to load the link above - can you provide a screenshot please? You won't be able to use TFTP, that page should load though, it's exceptionally difficult to brick the R3
Szentyr Posted September 9 Author Posted September 9 It gets stuck on the same loading screen and won't load the page.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 9 Administrators Posted September 9 Try completing through the DumaOS mobile app instead please and see if you can complete the wizard/load correctly
Szentyr Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago The app kept failing to change the VLAN ID which I required to connect to the internet, so I set the VLAN 10 via the browser and went to try the phone again but noticed while I was fiddling with the phone that the firmware update popped up(on the begin setup first page of my browser), usually I'm a few pages deep before it pops up so dunno if that changed anything but the firmware update finally went through this time from the PC browser, was worried it was bricked :). Thanks for the help. I want to try the R3 in DMZ mode, can you tell me where it is? I can't see the setting to enable it anywhere.
