talbyfish Posted yesterday at 01:10 PM Share Posted yesterday at 01:10 PM For Fibre (FTTC) connections, you'll need a router with a built-in VDSL modem or a separate modem and router. Deos the R3 have a built in VDSL modem ?? trying to set up r3 without using the plusnet router aswell. thanks
Krush Posted yesterday at 01:16 PM Share Posted yesterday at 01:16 PM The best thing for you is to consult your ISP's website and see if they offer a Bypass solution behind an RJ45 WAN router!

Krush Posted yesterday at 01:29 PM Share Posted yesterday at 01:29 PM The R3 offers a PPPoE and VLAN connection. Simply enter this information either via the initial setup or via the WAN settings... PPPoE username/password--- And advanced settings: VLAN 101 or 0!

talbyfish Posted yesterday at 01:54 PM Author Share Posted yesterday at 01:54 PM you legend. now lets see if i can get ping optimizer to work, I have been having to cut my speed down fromm 1gb to 150mbps to stop lag spikes
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted yesterday at 02:12 PM Administrators Share Posted yesterday at 02:12 PM It's just a router but it does have PPPoE & VLAN so you should be able to do it. Set your speeds manually and adjust Congestion Control manually instead of relying on the test which isn't 100% reliable at the moment.

Got it working but same as with plusnet router attached, have to slow speed right down to stop lag spikes

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted yesterday at 03:45 PM Administrators Share Posted yesterday at 03:45 PM Previously did you have the R3 in the DMZ on the Plusnet? Have you got any devices in the DMZ on the R3 or made any custom rules like in Internet Rules etc? I've given you Early Access to see if that improves it for you: https://forum.netduma.com/topic/58424-new-r3-firmware-dumaos-40645/
