  • For Fibre (FTTC) connections, you'll need a router with a built-in VDSL modem or a separate modem and router.
Deos the R3 have a built in VDSL modem ??

trying to set up r3 without using the plusnet router aswell.

    thanks

The best thing for you is to consult your ISP's website and see if they offer a Bypass solution behind an RJ45 WAN router!

The R3 offers a PPPoE and VLAN connection. Simply enter this information either via the initial setup or via the WAN settings... PPPoE username/password--- And advanced settings: VLAN 101 or 0!

It's just a router but it does have PPPoE & VLAN so you should be able to do it.

Set your speeds manually and adjust Congestion Control manually instead of relying on the test which isn't 100% reliable at the moment.

Got it working but same as with plusnet router attached, have to slow speed right down to stop lag spikes

So with your expected speeds set you can't eliminate it just by reducing Congestion Control?

I use a site called pingcanbeusefull.com

i have tested the ping  at on 100% 80% 60% 40% and 20% of download speed.

I have to take it down to 20% before i get the desired results, see below:

These tests are done doing a speed test on another devce which only reaches 250Mbps

Tests are fine when streaming on another device its just downloads.
