Simon Thomas
I have this weird situation where my download speed goes up to the max and then drops back down to 1 mbps. It alternates between the two every second. I did a factory reset but still have the same issue. Logs attached. Please help. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted Monday at 09:04 PM Administrators Share Posted Monday at 09:04 PM How/where are you measuring that happen exactly? Is this while doing an actual download, not a speed test? If so where are you downloading from?
Simon Thomas
The speed test is done on the netduma r3 dashboard. It's not while doing a download. Not only this but I've been having internet drop outs. I hadn't changed anything for this to happen
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted Monday at 09:56 PM Administrators Share Posted Monday at 09:56 PM Do speedtest.net, do you see the same behavior there? Is the internet dropping for all devices or specific devices? Is it being dropped from the game or definitely internet? Does it reconnect automatically or do you need to do anything to restore it? Simon Thomas
Yes the same issue with speedtest.net. See below, don in quick succession, my speeds are all over the place. Dont know why this has happened out of the blue. I pay for 900 down and 50 up and congestion control is set to 100% for each. Yes it drops on all devices. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted Tuesday at 02:18 PM Administrators Share Posted Tuesday at 02:18 PM What is the model of the modem/router the R3 is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode Are ALL devices connected to the R3? Have you entered your expected speeds into the router? How have you setup Congestion Control (Ping Optimizer > Advanced)? How have you setup SmartBOOST? Are you testing via ethernet or WiFi and is there a difference?
Simon Thomas
Yes all devices are connected to it. Yes i have entered the speeds into the R3. I factory reset the R3 and the issue still occurs without reinserting my old settings. I am always connected via ethernet

Simon Thomas
Im in Australia so its a NBN modem connected to the R3 . The R3 is not in a DMZ or bridge mode. I am on version 4.0.540 at the moment not on the early access of this version. Here is a video of what i experience. I am on a wired ethernet connection. Btw my ISP plan is 1000 down and 50 up. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted yesterday at 06:42 AM Administrators Share Posted yesterday at 06:42 AM I can't see the first video, could you upload it again? If it's not speedtest.net could you provide a video of it happening there also please? Do you see the same behavior when downloading a game for example? Hi! @Netduma Fraser His first video shows R3 network activity going up to 5 Gbps, which isn't possible! ----Is there a loop in his local network?!---

Simon Thomas
Thanks! The speedtest.net test I ran just now is at odds with my 950mbps down and 50mbps upload speeds from my ISP. You'll notice in the third recording in the 3rd attempt to run the speed stest the mbps went from approx 930 down to 1.5 and back up again which is bizarre. Like i said earlier this happened out of the blue, and theres no issue when bypassing the R3 from the NBN box modem directly to the PC. Krush
The R3's internal speed test is live from the WAN, which means you've managed the ping optimizer with very low percentages and always enabled! Can you take a screenshot of your ping optimizer?
