Yellan
Hi Guys, I have had the Netduma R2 for about 18 months now and it worked fine for a while. However, I now get a strict NAT suddenly not allowing me to connect to my friends party and party chat. I can play, but that's not the point. Here's what I've done so far. Disabled IPv6 in the Netduma Disabled UpNP in my modem / IPS Router Set a Static / reserverd IP for the R2 in my modem ISP/Router Put the R2 in the DMZ in my Modem ISP Router I have kept UpNp on in the R2. / I did not put the PS5 in the DMZ in the R2 (should i Do that? I don't think so?) Any help is very welcome. I've tried several Hybrid VPN areas, but they always give strict. It used to be Open in the Cod menu and type 2 in de PS5 menu. I got it to work once this week. I don't know what triggered that. That was before I tried the things above. What I do see which is maybe something is that the last four numbers of the IP addresses are the same in the picture where it did work. Might be a coincidence? Might not. I never changed any settings before and it always used to work. Whenever I rebooted to go to another area I never got it to work again. Maybe there is something to deduct from there. Thanks! Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted Thursday at 09:30 PM Administrators Share Posted Thursday at 09:30 PM You won't get an Open NAT using HybridVPN Have you made any port forwarding rules on the R2? Putting the PS5 in the DMZ would probably open the NAT I'd suggest removing the images as your public IP is shown Does the PS5 still show NAT Type 2 when CoD shows strict? Disable the Geo-Filter then reboot the game/console, does it show open in the game then without putting the console in the DMZ?

Can someone do something with my IP then? I will try this tomorrow. The geo filter is off as this won't work together with the vpn. I did get an open Nat with the vpn though this week and before.... Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted Thursday at 11:09 PM Administrators Share Posted Thursday at 11:09 PM Yes and no, just best to keep your public IP private where possible. If it's a gaming VPN maybe you can get an Open NAT but unlikely, otherwise the VPN wouldn't have been applying to the whole device. Are all devices connected to the R2 or do you have some still connected to the ISP router?

I put the ps5 in DMZ and got it to work twice with open Nat. It's very finicky. Sometimes it works when I keep enabling and disabling without rebooting. It seems to revert after every reboot or PS5 restart. It's express VPN Will keep you updated.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted Friday at 12:02 AM Administrators Share Posted Friday at 12:02 AM In DHCP set the PS5 to have a reserved IP, then put it in the DMZ and it should persist after reboots
