rjaaayyy Posted March 25, 2025 Posted March 25, 2025 i recently got new internet and a new provider. When i put it in bridge mode, it recognizes the xr500 as a connected device, but using the 192.168.1.1 it does not let me into the xr500, it says page took too long to respond.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 25, 2025 Administrators Posted March 25, 2025 Try http://10.0.0.1 or http://routerlogin.net do either of them allow you in?
rjaaayyy Posted March 25, 2025 Author Posted March 25, 2025 the ip said the samething, and routerlogin.net took me to the site again.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 25, 2025 Administrators Posted March 25, 2025 While connected to the router via a wired Windows PC, open command prompt, type ipconfig press enter and then post a screenshot of the results here please.
rjaaayyy Posted March 26, 2025 Author Posted March 26, 2025 sorry this time i hard wired laptop to the xr500 while in bridge mode with the 10.0.0.1 and it worked. i just cant get into it without the wire
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 27, 2025 Administrators Posted March 27, 2025 So wireless 10.0.0.1 doesn't work?
rjaaayyy Posted March 28, 2025 Author Posted March 28, 2025 Yes wirelessly, 10.0.0.1 doesn’t work but wired does which is fine I guess. New question, I have 1gb up and down and I have a cat6 cable from the xr500 into my console with qos has all upload of Xbox. When I speed test the Xbox series x, it can’t get into the 700s, but the download is much higher. How come???
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 28, 2025 Administrators Posted March 28, 2025 Is it definitely connected to the XR wireless? Do the ipconfig I mentioned previously but connected via WiFi and provide a screenshot of what you see. You don't need to allocate it all your upload, games barely use any bandwidth, usually less than 1Mbps, giving it more doesn't make it use more. The console speed tests are estimates - it usually says this on the test itself. If you get your expected speeds via a wired PC to speedtest.net then you won't be limited.
rjaaayyy Posted April 5, 2025 Author Posted April 5, 2025 Well what does the QoS do then if it doesn’t make it use more when u put it on certain devices?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 5, 2025 Administrators Posted April 5, 2025 16 hours ago, rjaaayyy said: Well what does the QoS do then if it doesn’t make it use more when u put it on certain devices? The purpose of QoS is to ensure that all your devices can be used at the same time without causing each other to lag/buffer and to place priorities on devices you choose. Giving the game more bandwidth wouldn't do anything, this is across the board, the game requires a certain amount of bandwidth and that's it, every game uses very little.
rjaaayyy Posted April 5, 2025 Author Posted April 5, 2025 alright thanks for the info, did you get the ip config picture? or did it not go through
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 5, 2025 Administrators Posted April 5, 2025 I can see it, could you do another via ethernet when the same thing has happened please? Also you mentioned " i hard wired laptop to the xr500 while in bridge mode" are you referring to the ISP modem/router being in bridge mode or you've set the XR500 in AP mode?
rjaaayyy Posted April 11, 2025 Author Posted April 11, 2025 via ethernet i am able to get into the xr500. yes the isp modem/router is in bridge mode.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 12, 2025 Administrators Posted April 12, 2025 For the WiFi card: Right-click on the Network/WiFi Windows Network Icon on the PC on the bottom-right hand side of your screen Open Network and Sharing Center. Click Change Adapter Settings. Right-click your connection and go to Properties. Uncheck the box next to Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) to disable it. Then try accessing via WiFi please
rjaaayyy Posted May 10, 2025 Author Posted May 10, 2025 forgot to respond, my bad. No it did not let me get in still new question, while using the router for console gaming. It disconnects says must have active network connection, but the router doesnt actually lose internet. Any fixes??
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 11, 2025 Administrators Posted May 11, 2025 Do you have Smart Connect enabled for WiFi? If so, if you disable that and connect to 2.4 or 5GHz manually can you still not access? Where is it saying that exactly, on the console dashboard, game etc?
rjaaayyy Posted May 19, 2025 Author Posted May 19, 2025 it is enabled, but its grayed out and i cant toggle it off. Its saying in the game, while playing it will kick me out and show, must have active network connection to play online matches. Even though the router never loses internet.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 19, 2025 Administrators Posted May 19, 2025 That's very bizarre, could you provide a screenshot of the WiFi page please? If you disable the Geo-Filter do you still get kicked?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 25, 2025 Administrators Posted May 25, 2025 Thanks, that looks fine, could you downgrade back to https://forum.netduma.com/topic/51611-new-xr500-beta-firmware-33535/ and see if it works better then please? If so make sure to disable auto update in Settings > Administration > Firmware Update
rjaaayyy Posted June 1, 2025 Author Posted June 1, 2025 it still happened during a game, after i downgraded.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 1, 2025 Administrators Posted June 1, 2025 I think there are probably 3 separate issues here which may be confusing things, they're unlikely to all be related. Unable to access the interface over WiFi Unable to disable Smart Connect Disconnecting from games Is that correct? If so: When connected via WiFi you're getting an IP address that appears to be a public IP. This would leave me to believe that it's not connected to the XR WiFi but the ISP modem router WiFi which would also mean it's not in bridge mode - could you verify if this is the case please? Have you changed any WiFi settings on the main WiFi page or in Advanced WiFi? When you get disconnected from the map, even with the Geo-Filter off do you notice a server being blocked? Could you get the log from the System Information page when it happens please?
rjaaayyy Posted June 14, 2025 Author Posted June 14, 2025 there was indeed bridging problems with isp! i think i got that resolved. it is currently working longer than it has in awhile. ill be back to update haha
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 14, 2025 Administrators Posted June 14, 2025 That's great to hear, thanks for the update so far!
rjaaayyy Posted June 28, 2025 Author Posted June 28, 2025 yes only 1 disconnect since then. Much better 👍 Netduma Fraser 1
