I appreciate you going out of your way for this info. I watched the video and I will try it after work tomorrow.

You should take the video down or delete that post though because it contains your personal ip in the COD network page. You dont want some wierdos out there to get that info.

What's important though. You saw Iowa pop up on GeoFilter map. You saw my NAT open on Xbox Series X. You saw my NAT open on CODBO6. No DMZ. No port forwarding. Just the regular UPNP. Same modem as you.

Funny. I was so buzzed. Didn't notice my ip in the video lol. Which i deleted from my YouTube channel lol.

@Dayman

You can try a complete restart of your local network: modem/R3/devices, in order one after the other to see. "Concerning NAT".

It is also possible that the "NAT authentication server" is blocked due to the Geofilter restriction. The easiest is indeed to launch the game and see the blocked servers and proceed by elimination.

Personally, I am in DHCP behind my main router: ISP Router/R3/Devices. I do not use DMZ or port forwarding... The UPnP relay between my main router and the R3 works perfectly (the R3 is not even in DMZ behind my main router). "NAT open on B06 behind 2 PCs and 2 Xboxes".

---I no longer use Battle.net on PC but the xbox app to download/play this game---

What i want to know is why is COD still cross gen in 2024? 4 yrs into this gen. Yet to see a true next gen COD smh. I'm sitting here going through the campaign. I'm not impressed with graphics at all. I know last gen is the reason.

Sorry for quick rant.

Cross gen or Cross play ?

Cross gen. You can look at graphics and tell. Remember. Game is on last gen too. You'd think after 4 yrs, they would move on from last gen. Those consoles have been out for 11 yrs.

I play on Xbox and I disabled cross play on this game! ---I tried to see if I could join a lobby behind a friend who plays on PC (Xbox app) and vice versa. "impossible"--- Without cross play behind xbox series X on this game you are necessarily advantaged "with the right screen" compared to an xbox one player? (with a lower generation)

Oh yeah. Right TV with VRR and 120 fps. You have advantage. Provided you got quick reflexes. I could tell a difference with BFV, Xbox Series X, LGCXOLED @120 fps with VRR. I now have a LGC4OLED. It's easily better than my old CX.

I've been using routers with netduma for years now. R3 is first one by netduma i bought. Previous 2 were Netgear.

After playing with Open nat. My ping to the servers are still high on the R3. The xr500 pings better, but the reason i ended up upgrading was because i had to keep restarting the internet on the xr500, as well as it would drop connection. Is there a possibility there is something wrong with my R3?

For me those servers you mentioned still didnt come up when i first turned on xbox. 2 servers in Europe  showed up and i allowed those. it helped to open nat i guess.

Yup. Interesting they're over in Europe. While you in California.

@Netduma Fraser

Ok, hopefully i can explain my train of thought correctly. Thanks to the nat issue when i boot up the xbox on the r3 it gives me servers in Europe that i had to allow in order for me to be open. When i use the xr500 servers in Missouri/ Arkansas central USA  showed up when booting up the xbox. Does this mean my info travels to those places first before going to the local california servers to play COD. In my mind this would make sense as to why the ping is higher on my r3, If my packets have to travel to Europe first. Is there a way to switch these initial servers? Am i correct in this line of thinking? What do those servers do when i first log on?  What is there purpose?

Hi!

By the way, you seem to have several devices in the geofilter, which might not give you the right information...

On Xbox it's quite simple, you have to proceed by elimination to differentiate the authentication, Nat and game servers!

The server in Europe is an authentication server, otherwise you would constantly be playing with a ping higher than 150ms on BO6... ---California/server in europe/california---

You can do the test as above to see what the servers correspond to on the geofilter!

---I am in France---

Nota : I reduced ping assist to 0 and put the geofilter in the ocean to see if there were any unlisted authentication or NAT servers (just for testing because this way you obviously won't find any games)

Thanks for the reply. Didnt know about the authentication servers. Yes i do have playstaion and xbox on geofilter. My wife and I play COD at same time. So was trying to make sure she has a good gaming experience so she don't quit lol. I can take one of the devices off.

I'll have to watch the video and do this test later. Video to small to see on my phone.

I thought I was onto something as to why my ping numbers are way higher on the r3 vs the xr500.

On Xbox, you can change the port manually, I advise you to do it, this way, the UPnP will open the NAT for your 2 consoles...

DPI automatically recognizes game packets regardless of the port used !

If you play together on 2 different platforms (PS5 and Xbox), there is a good chance that this will disrupt the geofilter. I would recommend only setting the geofilter for one device and inviting the unaffected platform to the game group.

on the port selection on xbox i don't have that port  3074 available as an option.

Logical, it's the port selected automatically! But since you have several gaming platforms, the PS5 may have taken it instead of the Xbox for BO6. Opening a port can only be taken by one device. For example, I use port 49235 manually for my main Xbox, this way other gaming devices that don't have this option don't impact it.

Concretely with 2 gaming devices behind the R3 on BO6, UPnP should look like this... "DemonwarePortMapping being the automatic port forwarding for the NAT opened to the game"

---The port numbers can obviously be different---
