DHCP Reservations, that's what you want, you should be able to do it from there now following the previous instructions

the IP address on the list doesn't match my linksys one, is this the whole point to make it match? sorry im still confused

The IP address of the XR the linksys has given it is 192.168.1.230 all you need to do is put that number in for the XR in DHCP reservations

the XR doesn't appear in the list which is why im abit baffled right now

okay so I've added it as a reserved IP, now when I my internet keeps buffering in and out. like a twitch stream for example cuts off then comes back on, do I need to do anything on the XR such as switch from get dynamically from isp > use static ip address?

No you don't need to do that, just reboot the XR, wait 4 minutes then see if it is any better

How do you have the QoS page setup?

I have it so it gives me the full speed of my internet instead of capping it to 100GB, right now it’s set to unlimited so I get the full 1000

The point of the feature is to prevent lag like the situation you mentioned, it does this by preventing your connection being saturated by lowering your speeds. Set it to 70% for download/upload and see if the issue occurs.

This Duma is causing me nothing but problems. Cutting in and out constantly. Why does it have these many problems?

By cutting in and out do you mean it does reconnect itself without you doing anything? Could you provide the logs when it next happens please?

Did you reboot after the issue before getting the logs? If so you have to get it before the reboot, there isn't anything there

Yeah I took the wire out and put it back in .. once the internet goes down I can’t even get into the Duma homepage ?

You should be able to still get access as the interface doesn't require internet, if you still can't though, try going to 192.168.1.1/adv_index.htm or 10.0.0.1/adv_index.htm or whatever other LAN IP you're using followed by /adv_index.htm and see if you can grab the logs from the settings there when it next happens

It's a DDoS attack essentially, without knowing the source IP we can't tell where it came from. If you were playing a game at the time it was likely an opponent on the opposite team for example
