Real bad hit detection

Recommended Posts

Having a real hard time with my hits registering. Losing almost every gun fight. I have fiber 1 gig, ethernet connection. Had this issue awhile ago in mw3 was able to tune it. I don't know if it's the SBHMM in black ops 6 effecting me also.  It's also hard to aim centered at the target it's almost as if it won't let me lock on. Any help would be greatful plz.

We can help you with things like ping as it's a statistic we can directly influence, hit detection and other subjective things would are very hard to help with as there is no hit detection value if you see what I mean.

I can barely see your photos, use this in future: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/use-snipping-tool-to-capture-screenshots-00246869-1843-655f-f220-97299b865f6b

  1. What is the model of the modem/router the XR is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the XR? E.g. XR in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode
  2. Are ALL devices connected to the XR?
  3. What are the speeds you pay for/receive?
  4. Have you entered those speeds into the router?
  5. How is the PS connected, via ethernet or WiFi?
  6. Whats the average ping shown on the Geo-Filter/in game?
  7. Are you using Armor?

1. Xr1000 version 74

2. My ps5 an 2 laptops are all hardware to the xr1000

3. I pay for a gig an I receive the same.

4. Yes the speeds are in the QoS I entered manually.  If that's what your reference is to as entered in router.

5. Ps5 pro is connected by ethernet

6. 14 - 50 ping. Depending on sever it connects to.

1. As to question 1 I don't know how to mess with the traffic flow, don't know what the dmz is.

  1. What is the model of your ISP modem/router.
  2. Are ALL devices connected to the XR - as in do you have devices still connected to your ISP modem/router?
  3. Do you have Armor enabled - check the shield icon top right of the interface

If your Geo-Filter ping ranges that much then that indicates you need to restrict it more to the lower ping servers which will give you a better experience.

I have fiber so the xr1000 is wired from the box they put inside my house.

2. Just 2 lap tops an the ps5 are connected via ethernet.  Phones an security camera via.

3. No Armor isn't active

What are the other things your were talking about dmz?

I can't register a hit an losing 9/10 gun fights only way I'm winning is if I shoot someone from behind. The experience is almost un playable.  I don't know if it'd the sbmm or whatever but I definitely can tell something is way off.

I assume the box has no WiFi and doesn't have an interface or anything like that that you know of? Those options I don't think are relevant to you.

Restrict the servers more to exclude those higher ping servers. To fine tune Congestion Control I'd suggest testing with downloads while following: https://bit.ly/bufferbloat-test start with a high value e.g 95%, test, decrease 10%, test, decrease 10% etc, until you get to a value that is pretty good, then try 5% either side of that value to see if it can be improved. Important to note that Download/Upload on CC don't have to be the same value & you may have a better experience with differing values. This is more of a real world test as you're actually doing traffic you would normally do.

ok i'll give that a try, no way to control anything from the fiber box that i know of. was thinking about tryin the r3 router but i dont know if that will be any better or a solution to the issue. i just cant get anything to register. also just got armor activated.

Okay that's fine then, tightening your Geo settings and fine tuning QoS will be key then. I didn't mean for you to enable it, I just wanted to know if it was as I would have recommended disabling it. The R3 does have better software overall and will be getting more updates but it's not required - if you fine tune those two features it should be better.

What else should I fine tune or play with on the QoS?

That's the main thing really - the rule you made for Traffic Prioritization, is it triggerring when you're playing?

Btw, the Congestion Control testing, make sure you have it set to Always when you're trying it.

How do I tell if it's triggering when I'm playing?

Not those numbers, it isn't prioritizing, which means the device you've added isn't the correct one - check the IP on the console itself then match it with the IP for one of the devices on the Device Manager, then add it it Traffic Prioritization and it will work.

That's prioritizing now yes so that's all fine, just the Geo-Filter and Congestion Control to adjust then

Ok I'm working to try an find the best % for upload and download.  Not very tech savvy but I been learning as i go. Thanks I just hope it helps for the hit registration
